    Range day 10/10

Called by a detective 10/13 where she informed me that one of my handguns was not coming up as registered. I checked my serial number and it was accurate so the issue is somewhere with the doj I guess. Opted to drop that handgun from the card. At this point I just didn't want any delays.

I will see you there. Mine is the same day in Devore. I was supposed to do mine on Aug 8th but I broke my hand end of July so I couldn't do it.

Had my residence check today. Super cool Deputy by the name of Diaz popped by and said Hi. I'm glad I was running a little late for work or otherwise I would have missed him completely. Timeline seems to be right on track, though...

          5/18 - Interview scheduled
          8/13 - Interview
???? - Employment verification (HR didn't notify me, so I'm assuming all is well).
          10/16 - Residence check.

Crossing my fingers for a speedy process and hoping the holidays doesn't hold it up too much.

Absolutely not on a military base.
Not even in a locked container.
Also don't forget the Federal prohibition against CCW inside of a Federal building occupied by Federal Employees... you can't even drive into the Post Office parking lot while carrying.

We went to the missile park at White Sands. Need to clear a free-state gun purchase type BG check... he makes a phone call and asks 4473-like questions waiting for the return call (talk about old school).
Then asks if you want to drive or walk in, if you have ANY firearms in the vehicle, then you have to park outside the gate and walk in.

An airshow at a non-military installation?
Their rules, their show. Unless signs are posted indicating USC or CPC, concealed means concealed but you may be asked to leave if a guard spots it.
I honestly don't know if there are FAA regs that would come into play for a private show. I would not imagine so since carry outside of the sterile areas is not prohibited.

(I went with dropping the handgun)

Apparently, CLETS-AFS is showing a different serial number for the handgun. DROS paperwork shows correct serial number.
did they say when they were expecting to have your permit ready? We are at 1 week today LOL. Havent gotten a call so hopefully all mine are good.

The detective was not forthcoming with that information.

Hopefully, in the next week or so.

From friends that have gone through this, it's about 2-3 weeks after the range day.

I talked to my HR manager this past Friday and she still hasn't received any kind of employment verification. The residence check seemed to go well for me. I wasn't home so the deputy talked to my roommate and two neighbors. Good luck on your process. Let's hope to see each other at the next class!

I doubt I'll hear anything from HR.
I HOPE I don't hear from the Public Works Director.

Final update on the process for me:

                                Interview July 20th.
September 17th informed I passed backgrounds, and scheduled my range day for October 3rd. Showed up at on October 3rd and wasn't on the roster, got asked to leave the class. The following Monday the detective was very apologetic and they added me to the October 10th class. Detective called me on the 13th to inform me one of my handguns was not registered to my name. I opted to drop that handgun in order to move forward. October 22nd they called to inform me my card was ready to be picked up.
