Got my interview date: Aug 13th. Now, my only concern is with my residency. Our lease is up in January, but we're planning on releasing, and definitely will be staying in SB county. I'd read that they want to see 9 months of future residency or some noise like that. Any truth?

I don't recall anything about the future.

The only things they asked me for was a rental agreement or equivalent and the most recent major utility bill in my name. They said nothing about proof of future residency. I just did my interview yesterday.

Outstanding. Worries alleviated. Thank you, sir.

You should be fine. I just went through my interview last month and my lease is month to month.

Yup. They got rid of that requirement of needing 9 more months on a lease...

My interview is at 8am today, wish me luck!

Update: Interview went well. If you have an interview coming up, dont be nervous! As long as you disclose everything you can think of on your application, it really is a painless process. The interviewer said that he liked my good cause statement. There was a lot more paperwork than anticipated. I saw the next applicant being interviewed, she looked to be a girl around my age (23). The interviewer joked a few times about how young I was, but apparently it's not so uncommon. Can't wait to hear back from the department.

I thought the class was on Sunday? What all were we supposed to bring? Lunch and the firearms with 30 rounds of ammo for each one from what I remember.

The class will be a few hours, you'll break for lunch, and then meet up on the range. When they let you onto the range, be the first to go to the table under the awning and you'll be the first to get your guns checked and the first to shoot and leave

Awesome. Is leaving the guns cabled locked in the factory box acceptable or do I need to purchase a lockable box?

It appears there is a class on both days.

I believe technically for transportation the have to be in a locked container. Does the glock box have half the handle on each side of the clan shell? If so put a lock around both when it is closed. Or if you don't have another lock use the cable lock wrapped around the handles a couple times. Or if your vehicle has a separated trunk, the unlocked glock box is fine inside the locked trunk
