Sacramento County CCW Advice
I know this has been said before, but it bears repeating. I had my initial CCW interview yesterday, and had a very nice conversation with my interviewer. He mentioned that in an earlier interview that day, an applicant had two convictions that were not of a type likely to disqualify him from the CCW process. However, the applicant failed to disclose these in his application, which killed his chance of receiving the permit. As the interviewer told me, the sheriff's dept. can overlook certain convictions, but under no circumstances will they overlook anything that remotely smells like perjury. Moral of the story: be open and honest in your application!Comment

Seeking a bit of insight into the face to face appointment (Sac county)
Hey guys. So my Face to Face interview is finally coming up next month!
I have a record but have provided all the documents, no convictions or arrests for within the last 9 years or so. I basically had a D.U.I. and M.I.P. charge within an 18 month period nearly 10 years ago.
My concern is...how does one provide proof of good moral character?
Since my run ins with the law (which were in a different state from 2007-2008)
I have
1) established a career as a real estate agent for the last nine years
2) graduated with a BA (political science) w/ honors
3) made a run at law school at McGeorge (although it didn't work out)
Is there any documentation I can use to establish good moral character? I am concerned that all they will see is my name and my record from 10 years ago and I want to counteract that with something positive
A resume?
College Transcripts?
Do you guys have any suggestions? ThanksLast edited by akm; 06-08-2018, 9:14 AM.Comment

2008 is a bit recent.
I would go ahead and have your resume and trans ripts but doubt that will have much sway unless they are incredibly impressive.
Any tickets since then? Speeding wtc?
Do any volunteer work?
Have any well know communtiy members who would write a letter for you?
Otherwise just go for it.Beans and BulletsComment
