SSD isn't even accepting appt's for new applications. The last time appt's were issued was on 1/30/13.

              Justice delayed, is Justice denied.

This would seem to be a situation that CGF should get involved with again, since SSD doesn't appear to be "playing by the rules" that were accepted in the settlement.

Got my appt in April, I'm taking the ccw course prior to the interview, to get it out of the way. I have already applied for my Utah CCW, I'm just waiting for a response, 26 days left! LOL

What "rules" are they not playing by? Just curious :-)

You need to sign up for the email notification list , trust when I say when they send the email the spots are gone in less than 30 min!

                      Attention CCW Modification:

If you are going in to MODIFY your CCW (i.e. address change, name correction, adding/removing firearms) you will need to fill out one of these forms. Unfortunately this form is NOT located on the Sac Sheriff website and the only place to get it is in person when you're waiting to be seen at the time of your appointment.

I snagged an extra and uploaded it here for anyone that wants to fill it out in advance.

Considering the staggering number of applications there processing, absolutely. I'm guessing you don't know the numbers they are pushing threw nor the numbers on the contact list waiting.
There email notification is notifying people in order of sign ups. The last one was #1-500. Your going to be higher on the number list if you signed up in December. There are thousands of applicants waiting along with you.
They also add extra days when they can. Keep checking and maybe try not to be so hard on them. They are working there butts off to process applications with what they have available. :-)

I finally got in and had my first appointment on March 6. The waiting is what is the hard part. As I was in the waiting room , I heard about 5-6 people get called into the room for their interview and none of them had shown up. Someone in the waiting room made a comment that anti gunners are creating appointment to stop others. I'm glad I got mine it was at 215 got interviewed around 250. Then had to wait another half hour to get downstairs.

I really hope I get it. A little back around of me. I'm 20, never been introuble with the law. For the people that will reply to this post saying you have to be 21, I have looked it up the in penal codes and also asked 2 people at SacSheriff and they said 18+

                            Wish me luck!

Please let us know what you are told. Here what I get every place I look it up on CA department sites.

"What are the requirements for a California CCW?

The police department issues permits only to those residents who have satisfied the following established criteria and provide for the yearly renewals of issued permits:

                              Legal resident
At least 21 years of age
                              Good cause
Good moral character. Applicant must pass a California Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigations background check."

I talked to 2 people a good time before my appointment and they both said 18. When I was in there for my appointment he said you're 20 years old I said yes. He didn't say I couldn't apply and we continued on.

I can't find any government website included Sac sheriffs that says you have to be 21+, with that said I'm not going to give up because an unofficial website said 21. Not to sound rude
