I kind of understand his concerns. Applied same time and am in same position. Am just waiting for the new Mayor or Council to put a kibosh on the whole process. Yes the Sheriff is a good man and very supportive of 2a, but the anti's will keep working until they find a way around him.

If the Sac Sheriff had any plans to continue issuing CCW's, he wouldn't have put it on hold. Think about it for a second. He catches a ton of flack for issues, he finds out this ruling is about to drop, he puts CCW's on hold for no apparent reason and now the ruling comes out, he has his reason for no further issue.

The Sac Sheriff policy has never accepted, "2d Amendment Right" as Good Cause for issuance. For us, the pressure will be whether "Self-Defense" will remain as the standard GC statement.

    (http://www.sacsheriff.com/Pages/Orga...IIB/CCW.aspx):
Step 4 - You will receive notification, generally within 30 days, whether your application for a Concealed Weapons Permit has been approved or denied. If you are denied, you can review the appeals process below if you want to appeal the Board's decision. If your application was approved, you will also receive a Department of Justice (DOJ) LiveScan form and LiveScan instructions. DOJ processes your fingerprints and notifies the Sheriff's Department of your clearance to carry a CCW permit. DOJ charges a fee of approximately $120 for the fingerprinting, criminal history check and firearms eligibility letter. The DOJ clearance usually takes 30-90 days. During this waiting time, its recommended that you complete any necessary training requirements[See Training Requirements] [Download SSD Training and Qualification Form]
