Yes, I submitted everything online. The email confirmation I got said to bring a copy of the application packet, two copies of proof of residency, and a letter stating why I wanted a CCW. I brought them but none of them were needed.

Renewal people only: with the new website how do you even check for appointment openings? Do you have to fill out all your information and hit submit and then get to see if there is any openings for renewals? Thank you.

Had my appointment this morning. I didn't need to provide any paperwork, just my ID. I was told to wait to do the live scan until I recieve the approval email since it is non refundable and only adds about 10 days to the 6 month process.

No. They don't give you the livescan form until you are approved following initial interview.

Had a recent email from Dept saying they were not doing mods right now. I am sure it will take awhile to shake the bigs out of the new system/software. We all need to be a bit patient.

Would you mind posting the date of that email? It would help as this thread ages. If the email included any expected dates, that would be great to know also. I have 2 Sac friends currently needing to do a mod.

For those who have their DOJ approval from their LIVESCAN and have been so notified by the sheriff but are waiting to schedule their issuance appointment: The appointment calendar is now available on the Sheriff's website under "gun permits" in the "services" tab. When I looked, the first 3 Fridays in February were available for scheduling.

My time line:
Schedule appt. 6/14/16
Appt 7/19/16
Approval 8/29/16
Livescan started 9/6/16
Approval 1/17/17
Final interview: Scheduled

I hope you hear from them shortly, I submitted my mod yesterday hopefully they get the new system rolling like a well oiled machine.
