That's not the impression I got. They were nowhere near Sacramento and no mention of them meeting with DOJ. Understaffed maybe, but they clearly explained complete DOJ result returns differ based on a persons own background history. Using another persons return as the expectation is not a method of accuracy or reason to assume political motivations.

Um, maybe it was a joke, but it was stated "my partner and I just got back from up north" and the statement "on the steps of the DOJ" was used, "literally only 4 people working on this stuff" was also stated and the statement was made that guns are disfavored in this state and the context was in regards to political environment.

If the information given was completely false or supposed to be some big secret, it should have never been mentioned.

EVERYTHING is political. If you care about your gun rights, remember that next time you vote.

Livescan was finally completed on 4-14. Picked up permit on 4-15. Took almost a month to complete livescan.

Congrats and thanks for the followup! Still waiting on the firearms portion as of yesterday. On the up side, I put a 9mm Shield in jail this week when I finally found one in stock for a reasonable price. Timing may work where I can qualify and add that one to my permit before picking up the permit.

My renewal is due 6/12...had a schedule date for interview 5/28...called by phone (Saturday) by investigator 5/24 so I don't have to go in now. Go Riverside CCW Unit and Sheriff Chad Bianco for going the distance to get us renewed on time.

I emailed the sheriffs office if I can have the info to start the live scan before my interview. The next day, I receive a reply back with a PDF of the live scan application and where to go for the scan and finger prints. When I called the places to do my live scan and prints I was able to make an appointment on the 8th due to someone cancelling. If not, then I would have had to call the following week to see if they had any openings. Hope this helps.

Interview scheduled for earliest date: Mar. 26, 2021

Investigator called on Mar. 25 to do phone interview and scheduled qual for April 10, 2021 at Ben Clarke.

Did live scan on Apr. 1, 2021, cleared CA and FBI next day, still waiting on Firearms portion.

Took and passed quals on Apr. 10.

                          Update:

Live scan cleared on May 5.

Waiting to hear from sheriff on approval.

Got a call today to do phone interview instead of face meeting and everything easy. Was advised to wait a week or two before my expiration date to pick up new card.

                              Here's an update:

                              Live scan completed 5/11/21 (today)
                              Interview on 5/27/21

I logged on to the Riverside Sheriff's website to look up the status of my application to see if it's been assigned to someone. Not yet.
When I go in for my interview, do I bring copies or originals of all the documents I've uploaded to them?
