Finally .... got my permit

I was so excited when Deputy Yezzo called Thursday! Went right down after work and picked my CCW up. Started with my Interview on Jan. 28, 2015, ended July 9th. Went to the Sheriffs class on May 2nd and the range on May 20th. All in all, pretty painless.

I think my wife is covered for her reason, she works in the medical field, she's been at work in the hospital where the staffs lives were threatened by patient family members and also gang members who are patients. You'd be surprised how common threats are against the medical staff.

You can't do it until after the interview. At the interview they provide you with the paperwork specific to their dept that authorizes the full livescan and firearms eligibility check. The paperwork also has the billing authorization for CaDOJ to bill the dept for the livescan.

I can't seem to find the info on the Pawn Shop in Riverside that will run your gun through DROS again for you. I found the one in Temecula, but Riverside would be closer for me.

I believe that any pawn shop that deals with guns can do it for you. All you need to do is pawn the gun and then immediately pay off the pawn which starts a new DROS and 10 day wait. The new DROS should show the correct data on the gun (caliber, barrel length) and that will update the doj records.

Yep end of Febuary for me..I'm guessing not enough staff to handle the applications...
