Go qualify with the firearm/s you want to add at any of the facilities authorized by RSO, fill out a "modification" application on the Riverside CCW website, upload the qualification sheet and any other requested info and then wait for approval. I have done this twice and it averaged a little over 2 weeks each time. Your mileage may vary!

        CCW renewal question

Filling out my renewal and need the permit number. Is it the ORI number or the CII number? Thanks.

Submitted modification application to add 2 guns on Tuesday 11/10

Received notification it was approved and ready for pickup today 11/13

I'll be picking it up Monday morning in Palm Desert. Crazy fast... My last modification application took 4+ months for approval.

That's fast! I added a few pistols to mine in October and it took about 2 weeks, I thought that was incredible, but yours only took 3 days... wow! The CCW dept. is getting more efficient from the increased demand for permits under Sherriff Bianco's leadership.

Congrats. How did you manage to get a livescan without an ATI from the CCW unit? Then you were approved the same day as your interview? Only asking since this could potentially save people a lot of time.

That was the first question the interviewing officer asked, i sent an e-mail to the default address that is on the page and asked if they thought it would be a good idea if i did my live scan before the interview. They did not give me a yes or no answer but did provide the information of where to go and the packet that needed to be filled out. I went ahead and did it before the interview so that i could have everything that was under my control taken care of before my interview

Wow, that's awesome. Good info to have considering the livescan could take a month alone.

Just relax and answer all the questions honestly. You will have to wait for the live scan and background check to complete and then it will be reviewed by your BI before permit is issued. As to how long it will take to be approved after all that is done, is anybody's guess...Review this thread, and you will find that some have received their permit in days and some in weeks or months. No standard timeframe exists for any part of this process. Good luck!
