Interviews can be at BC and Palm Desert as far as I know, but I believe you need to request Palm Desert specifically. Better email CCW unit or call to find out.

BC seems more fond of emails. They usually get back to you in a day or two, sometimes an hour.

Just sent in for my renewal
Appointment is May 11th so I guess I'll be checking daily like a lot of you.
I went ahead and scheduled my renewal class with FTA next month so I can get that out of the way and upload the cert.

Hey calgunners, it's been a while since I last checked this thread so I'm a little embarrassed to ask about my renewal. My renewal date is 4/6/21. If I am reading the riverside sheriff renewal website correctly, I need to start the renewal process 180 before I expire? They must have changed the process because it use to be 90 days. Seems like it's all online now which is cool. Another thing that is different is that I have to qualify THEN scan and submit in my renewal application. Am I correct so far? If so, I need to get qualified here pretty quickly. Do they still let us qualify at Johnny woods in Indio?

Thank in advance for your help.

Yup, when we got our permits 2 years ago we were told to apply 90 days out but it seems the 'Rona has changed things so now they want us to start 180 days in advance.

                Start early.

You can apply now when you have your qualificaiton just upload the cert.
It appears Johnny woods is still on the approved list: https://s3.amazonaws.com/permitium-d...+List+2020.pdf

Anyone know if you scheduled at the palm desert originally can you reschedule to the BC with the reschedule link? I only see dates not location.

Sorry if I'm replying to the wrong thread, I'm new to this

Just finished my renewal training and have everything done.

While I was on the site I checked appointments and there are a few days available in December (Christmas week) and several days open in January. Those of you way out should be able to move up.

                      Good luck all!!

So I qualified Saturday at woods security and filled out my renewal forms. My permit expires 4/6/21 and BC was booked out till the end of May. But.... Palm desert had openings in March so I made my appointment for March first. I figured that was a good date. About a month before I expire, just incase they need something I have a month to get it. I have never interviewed in palm desert. Always at BC. maybe once in downtown riverside. I hope I didn't make a mistake. The guys at BC have always been cool and easy to work with. I hope palm desert is the same.

Don't expect to see anything before your appointment. The location is in the e-mail you received when you booked the appointment. If the e-mail has disappeared (after all, it arrived months ago) e-mail them at ccw@riversidesheriff.org to check the location.

Don't expect that to change until after your "interview". It's really more of a review of your application to make sure you filled it in properly. They may need new utility bills as the July ones are pretty dated now.
