If you want to use ben clark it will only be offered once you go for your interview. From my experiance that was the only way i signed up, after my interview the deputy gave me a time slot.

Call Ben Clark directly to set up your appointment. I’ll be going January 7th, Saturday. You can do this prior to your appointment. But of course it’s a gamble in case the first interview finds something that would disqualify you. There is an informative YouTube video about exactly what the class entails with a quick search.

Couple hours of classroom that covers legal aspects of CCW, then gun qualification. 6 shots first from 15, 10 and 7 yards if I recall correctly. 70% have to hit a human silhouette. Most people have mentioned have your gun info/serial numbers written down prior so your not spending extra time going to the car to get the info and unlocking your gun case, etc.

Does riverside county allow trigger modifications? The website says nothing about modifications that I can find other than laser sights are now allowes.

Called May 2018. Initial interview scheduled was Sept 2020. After I read that Bianco was putting pressure on Sniff to be "Shall Issue", I read that the CCW unit was getting additional help.

I asked about earlier interviews after the June 2018 primary election, then they moved up my date to Oct 2018! I did Livescan early Nov, then did Ben Clark end of Nov, and picked up my CCW this week!

Stan Sniff is still signing the CCWs. So for that, I am eternally grateful that he helped me to protect my family. Thank you Mr. Sniff. And I am also very grateful to Bianco for putting pressure on Sniff to become more Shall Issue! Thank you Mr. Bianco! Welcome to America for me!

From the instruction booklet, Absolutely no modifications shall be made to any weapon, without the approval, and subsequent inspection,
of the range master staff located at the Ben Clark Training Center. Scopes of any type are not permitted.

In the class they say grips and sights are OK, but nothing else. I have heard of guys being turned down due to refinishing their gun but don't know if that's true or not.

They do an inspection/dry fire test prior to qualifying. I doubt they'd notice a slightly improved trigger but would likely catch something highly modified.

Wow! From the sound of things it appears that our county is the ONLY county in California that is going towards honoring 2A instead of tacking on more restrictions. I don't know whether or not it was Bianco who pushed for reforms though. Sheriff Sniff has been issuing about as fast as he could for the past few years with the only catch being the short staffing at the CCW office. I can remember when I applied and the ONLY one manning that office was Deputy Aguirre. There were no office support staff nor other help for him. He alone prepared the files for review by the lieutenant and eventually a signature. The office is quite a lot bigger now and they've definitely upped their game. Our new Sheriff should be taking more steps to make the process even easier, faster, and more transparent.

Congrats to those who have recently picked up their permits. I have talked to all three of my sons today and they will all be applying in the new year. Hopefully their experience will be somewhere along the lines of that of Dencio. We are looking forward to dealing with Sheriff Bianco's CCW office.
