By saying your pre- approved, Do you mean your live scan came back to the sheriff and you got the go ahead to proceed with training?

sorry for the questions. I'm just wanting a little more information on what to expect. My appointment is mid october. Thanks

Yes I wanted to be pre-approved before I spent the money on training.

I just got bumped from may 2019 to next week and they have openings almost all of Oct from what they told me.

Also I have a question regarding Holsters....... i know this has been asked over and over but i cant find a clear answer. Almost all my holster do not have a thumb retention only trigger retention. Will this be allowed? Also instead of bring 6 dofferant holster will a universal nylon holster work so I can just use 1 holster for all my pistol during qualifying?

Go or no go on iwb kydex trigger pocket retention style?

Go or no go nylon universal holster with nylon thumb strap to fit all my pistols?

Dont beat me up guys but I did a search and did not see a clear cut yes or no.

        Thanks

I used one nylon holster for all 3 of mine, worked great! Had a strap but didn't use/need it. I did my requal at Ben Clark recently, the deputies were great!

Yes, you can use the single nylon holster for all, they won't sweat it. There's references that they prefer the retention strap, but it's not practical to use the straps when on the firing line. They didn't even instruct us to strap, just holster the weapon and keep your booger hook off the bang switch. No serpas! They talk about why during class.

For me, enrolling at Ben Clark was simply the Deputy asking me during the interview if I wanted to do the CCW Class on my own or at Ben Clark. Then he put me on the BC calendar and said show up with a check. Easy.

The ONLY way to sign up for the class/qual at Ben Clark is through the deputy that does your CCW interview. There is no website, phone number, etc.
