I believe our sheriff is up for re-election in 2018. Newspaper says that the county board of supervisors are split on supporting him. I'm concerned for the longevity of our CCW's if Stan doesn't get re-elected. Love to hear others thoughts on the subject.

So apparently my city of Banning is going to start issuing CCW's. So that's Murrietta, Beaumont & Banning getting on board to expedite things. Hopefully more cities join in.

So Banning has joined Beaumont, and Murieta in processing CCWs through MyCCW.us

I've read the instructions and am interested in pursuing this.

The MyCCW FAQ states each department has it's own "Good Cause" requirement. Anyone know if Banning is accepting Personal Defense? (The MyCCW Q&A didn't respond to my question).

Otherwise, where do I read up on Good Cause Statement Guides? I'm not a diamond dealer, realtor, or victim of crime.

Thank you for your thoughts, PM me if you wish.

ETA: Most of the FAQ/Info links around here are dead, including the Cal CCW Forum & carrynet forum.

Anyone know if the RSD is allowing amendments to issued permits to add a weapon, or is that still only at renewal?

Renewal only last I heard. I doubt it's changed since they are still over a year for initial appointment.

I think we in RivCo will be better off if Lt. Biancho wins.

He has the support of both the Riverside Sheriffs Association and the Riverside Police Officers Association.

                    Dear supporters and friends,
I strongly believe that our Constitution protects the right of law-abiding people to carry a firearm for self-defense outside their home. That’s why I’m proud to announce that I am giving my full support to the #FixRiverside Initiative at www.FixRiverside.org.
When I chose to run for the office of sheriff, that decision was based on my commitment to you--the people--and to Constitutional values. The promise I made, that I would fight for your rights, remains true today in spite of the outcome of our recent election. That’s why I’m renewing my pledge to build a better tomorrow and asking for your help today.
#FixRiverside is a coalition of gun owners and the gun rights groups The Calguns Foundation (CGF) and California Association of Federal Firearms Licensees (CAL-FFL) working together to make sure that Riverside residents can exercise their fundamental right to carry for self-defense. This strong, focused, and experienced group will be covering many different angles to bring about the change you deserve. In fact, they’ve already laid the groundwork -- now they just need your help. If we stand together, we can create a future in which all law-abiding residents of Riverside County can exercise their Second Amendment right to carry.
If you care about your Second Amendment rights as much as I do, please join me in supporting the efforts of CGF, CAL-FFL, and thousands of courageous Riverside residents like you by going to www.FixRiverside.org and signing up to fight for no-BS shall issue carry in Riverside County. I already have, and so has my whole family. Won’t you join me in restoring our Constitutional rights?
If you don’t have extra time to help on the ground, or if your personal situation keeps you from participating, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help pay for the Initiative’s legal, research, and coordination expenses.
And please, do your rights a favor and pass this urgent message along to all of your pro-gun family and friends in Riverside County. We need to rally everyone we can for these important efforts to make Riverside shall issue. This effort will be a difference-maker.
I hope that you will join me in backing a cause that I truly believe in: giving law-abiding Riverside County residents the full ability to exercise their Second Amendment rights. Thank you so much for your time, generosity, and consideration. Now, let’s go #FixRiverside!
                    - Chad

Thanks for the information. I would hate to have my renewal denied simply because the new sheriff changes the policy. I did not see any information on Brown's stance on CCW. It looks like Bianco is all for it. That's good.

I emailed Brown around a year ago about the City of Hemet issuing CCW's and never got a response back so we can take it for what it is..

I went in for my renewal interview last week and like the new digs. Both were very professional and the sec. was nice. The new person that replaced Aguirre seemed like a nice guy also. Pretty painless all in all.

I've got my initial interview on Friday. Would someone mind reviewing my good cause statement and giving me a few pointers?
