You can email them or when you pay for the permit, let them know you want to list an additional firearm.

Make sure to have your qualification ready so you can email it when requested.

      Thank you very much.

When you say qualification you're talking about the training/certification portion for the CCW correct? Since to my understanding we need to have the live fire portion done for every gun on the permit, right?

IME the certificate which shows you completed training also includes all the information pertaining to the firearms you will be authorized to carry. This shows not only that you qualified with these firearms but also lists the caliber and serial number of the weapons, etc.

If you add a gun after you complete your initial qualification and training, you'll have a second certificate with the same information showing you qualified with that added firearm. I believe the training certificates are good for six months, I would expect add-a-gun is treated the same.

OCSD will run the serial number on all your on-permit firearms to verify they are, in fact, registered to you.

I've never tried to modify an application after it was submitted via permitium, so I don't know if it is possible, but I'd be surprised if you were the first to ask. In other words, no harm in asking.

So she doesn't think everyone should have one? I hope SCOTUS puts her in her place.
ATF Form 4473: If a frame or receiver can only be made into a long gun (rifle or shotgun), it is still a frame or receiver, not a handgun or long gun.

Just to follow up on adding a gun to the list while the application is still in process, it was as easy as sending an email out to the CCW licensing email. They were very accommodating and helpful.

I just went in for a livescan yesterday and by the time I got home (20 mins) both DOJ and FBI already cleared, wow. Firearms...who knows when? BTW, anyone know what the firearms background check actually does and is it a manual process?

Yeah I was curious because DROS completes quickly but this check is supposedly taking 10 weeks now. It must be a manual process otherwise I see no reason that FBI/DOJ/DROS checks aren't backed up only the Firearms check is.

From what we know and have gleaned from the past:
-FBI is an automated 24-hour turn through the NCIS.
-DOJ background is an automated run through police rap sheets, etc., but requires manual review.
-Automated Firearms System check on firearms is automated but requires manual review.
-DOJ also has access to a stack of information (outlined in CA PEN 11106
