      Needless conflict?

Interesting take... I am not going to comply with unconstitutional requirements, especially if the potential outcome is a subjective determination that I am not of "good moral character". My right to defend my life will not be decided by someone sitting behind a desk, basically saying do I like you? That is certainly not what our founders intended, nor what our Supreme Court said. If that is seen as "unnecessary conflict" so be it.

Some people want to prove a point (that everybody here already knows). This thread (and forum) is for people who want to Carry without risking criminal prosecution by first getting a CA CCW permit.

I interviewed Wednesday and had a background investigator contact me today.

I was told there are about 90 applications in que at MCSO, not sure of other jurisdictions in Marin.

Proving a point isn't the issue. It is the CA government not being willing to follow the Constitution, and how much I am willing to allow them to violate the Constitution in order to exercise my pre-existing rights. I will ultimately not allow a bureaucrat to subjectively decide my ability to defend my life. I want to be able to defend my life but not when it requires submitting to the coercive power of the State.

This thread is not about you, it is to help Marin Co residents who want a CA CCW permit get them from their SO or PD. It is not a soapbox for you to beat your chest over how ideologically pure you are. We don’t care what you will “allow” the State of California to do or not do. There are other CalGuns forums where you can discuss and debate about that. That is off topic here. Just stop it.

If you believe you have the Right to Open Carry and/or Concealed Carry without a permit, go right ahead and do that. Nobody here will stop you. But stop posting off topic posts in this forum dedicated to getting CA CCW permits.

Lighten up, Frances. No one is out to get you, and you're kinda ****ting in the punch bowl for a bunch of other people.

Will probably be re=applying, trying the sheriff route. Yes I want to attain a ccw but will not comply with unconstitutional demands in order to do so.

Do as you will, but if you're going to take the time to apply and come out of pocket for the process (training, psych, live scans), I would think that you should be prepared to fully acquiesce to their requests and questions. I suspect that if you become slightly indifferent in the interview process you'll be dismissed.

Upon completion of training, I should be issued a permit.

Got my CCW from Novato PD. It was a good experience. The guy I dealt with worked with me get my paperwork right. All my phone calls were returned the same day or next day. It was not what I was expecting. Most importantly... they are issuing.

I recently received mine from MCSO as well.
