I don't think it will be an issue. LASD doesn't inspect you firearms. Only the location that does your firearms training will. I checked with my instructor and he said it wasn't an issue.

Customization to firearms are permitted as long as it does not violate any State or Federal regulation. There are no caliber restrictions. The ammunition must comply with State and Federal regulations. Magazine capacity is not restricted. However, the use of any magazine with a capacity above 10 rounds is only permitted if the applicant is in legal possession of such magazine.

I believe there are only couple of mods that would make their panties bunch up, like threaded barrel - creating an evil "assault pistol" for example

Yes, I mailed in my application. I received a call from a 213 area code. I missed the first call but the deputy left a voicemail to call back. My interview is scheduled for next week.

Since the CCW process was 16 months, I wonder if there is a time that I should apply for renewal? I obviously got my CCW before the court decision, through the LASD, will the LASD do the renewal as well ? (Living in Calabasas - Lost Hills Sheriff).

Similar boat as you. My training docs were submitted on 3/5 and resubmitted 3/14 with the removal of "Re:" from the subject line to test my luck.. Still no email confirmation of receipt.

From what I've been reading throughout this thread from others who have renewed, I suggest sending in your renewal 5-6 months before your expiration date. LASD's website states "at least 90 days prior to expiration" but I highly doubt that's enough time. As for renewing through LASD, yes. If they were the issuing agency, you can renew through them. It's on their CCW web page.

Just did my interview today, very simple, basically just went over the application and asked me some yes/no questions regarding police interactions/crime history/etc.

The deputy didn't say anything about how many applications they are going through, but the deputy did say he estimates about 5 more months to get my CCW, which is about right considering the average time to get a CCW from the history of the posts here.

What was the timeframe from mailing your renewal application?

I mailed out 5/16/22 a few days after you but have had no interaction from LASD yet.

I'm wondering if I missed any calls from 213 since I ignore a lot of spam callers but not sure if I got any 213 in the last month or so.
