LASTLY, the deputy will call everyone individually by their name and take you to a room. They will confirm some information, ask for your ID, ask for the payment, take a photo of you, and hand you your CCW.

That's about as close as it gets lol.
I completely forgot but did we have to give them passport size photos or photos for the hard copy permit card when we went for the interview or sent in our application ?

When you are called for your interview, they will give you detailed instructions on what you need to bring and they will send you an email as well.

I can't say what you need or don't because it depends on your GC statement. Go check out the LASD website for the basics of what you need.

That is the usual but not universal experience. A few us, myself included, received no acknowledgment of the training docs. We just patiently waited for the call for pick-up. Seems we had been groomed to wait by that point in the process.

Early on, I made that same mistake once in Vegas where the solution is completely counterintuitive for a Californian. I took my untucked Hawaiian shirt and simply tucked it in exposing the gun. No permit required for open carry in Nevada, so problem solved. The other counterintuitive part is that nobody who saw me cared one bit.
