Thanks, just to be clear, that was the requirement to inform the LASO of contact you have with LE, correct? Is there anything in the paperwork about a requirement to inform an LEO that contacts you that you are carrying?
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

      Thanks for the reply.

Got it and understood. I was more or less checking to make sure the GC portion was done and over with and so long as I don't do anything stupid and run afoul of the law then I should be good and it sounds like that's the case.

One other thing that might throw a wrench in the situation is that I changed jobs between the interview and the training email being sent. The role is basically the same but the employer is certainly different. Would something like bite me at this point or am I beyond that being a concern?

I realize this is very situational and nobody really knows the answers 100% but you guys seem to be really plugged into how a lot of this works so figure it was the best resource.

        Major,
        Correct.
Yes, we shall inform the LEO that we are carrying and must show the card. The card must be with you while carrying. If you are not carrying, telling the LEO or showing the card is not required. However, laso still wants to know about the contact, regardless.

Major, you have a point, after all, if push came to shove, no court ever would accept anyone's assurance that deputy so and so told them to do this and that without some kind of factual proof

Interview june 2021; asked to do livescan.
Livescan (both portions) completed july 2021
Training preemptively completed august 2021, sent certificate via email, explaining that i took risk and did training preemptively because i will be having hand surgery end of august and will not be able to shoot for several weeks, Received acknowledgment “training certs received.”
Today received rejection letter for lack of good cause.
No sooner than someone says Light Green has worked (the PM I got) or was told it should work (anonymouscuban in post #10254), we get one like this — a well done application failing….

When some asks their odds for a certain county if their GC color matches or exceeds that county’s color (and they’ve got no other problems, like GMC), I tell them they have “a solid shot at getting issued.” I can’t say that about LG GCs in LA, but I can say it about Yellow GCs there. As the map says, it may be off by 1 color. If you have LG GC you may get lucky, but you don’t have a “solid chance.”

            Waiting for … NYSRPA.

Just wondering....I already currently put in my app right after Christmas (regrettably) and noticing the 8+ month response/turnaround time.

My question is....has anyone tried adding another gun or two AFTER they submitted but BEFORE approval?

You can add any time until you do your training. Whatever is on your training certificate will be on your permit.

At my first attempt I had different combination of guns on the application, when interview came, I simply printed out a page with new set and brought it with me

Question related to this. So after you do the CCW training and qualify with the guns you want listed on your CCW, do you then have to bring in your guns for the CCW Unit to inspect and verify, or do they just go by whatever's written on the training certificate? I can't imagine that they would allow dozens of civilians with guns to enter the Sheriff's Station.

LASD site only states that you bring the certificate

                          This ^^^^

The trainer inspects each gun that you bring to the training and certification class for the make, model and serial number. The LASD accepts this delegated inspection.

6/10/21 - Interview and told to proceed with LiveScan
                            6/19/21 - LiveScan completed
9/21/21 - Emailed LASD and was told "file pending review"
3/05/22 - Received Denial Letter due to insufficient Good Cause

My good cause was mainly recreational. Provided documentation of being in remote areas with no cell service, high value photography and firearm equipment. During the interview, the investigator focused on my car being stolen a few years back. I provided the police report and the crime map. I still live in the same area when it occurred.

Bummed but glad to finally be out of purgatory. The interviewer said I shouldn't have an issue and told me to do the LiveScan. I guess the LT thought different. Only pissed I had to spend time and money on the LiveScan. Hope this data point helps others. Hoping the Supreme Court ruling goes our way as I won't be applying a second time. Stay safe and good luck to everyone else!

If anyone is curious, I attached a picture of the Denial letter for your reference. Hope no one gets this letter.

Edit: The one brightside is that I didn't get Denied for Good Moral Character, Criminal History, or False Statement on Application. I did have an issue with MJ as a minor, which I disclosed.

Interestingly enough, it looks like the POC for denials has changed. I wonder when that took effect and if one might have more luck reaching this person than the previous?
