They had you proceed with the livescan just to deny you?

If the denial is due to something they found in your background, then I get it. But if they denied you after telling you to proceed with the livescan even knowing you only had a green good cause, then that's messed up. In my opinion the good cause should be deemed acceptable (or not) before having anyone spend more money on the process. Verifying the stated good cause is fine of course, but turning around and stating it's not sufficient after previously letting you proceed with it is messed up. If your good cause is what you say it is and they let you spend more money on the process, and there are no red flags in the background check, they should have to issue.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I hope this is just a fluke and not a sign that Sheriff AV is getting cold feet and tightening things up again (I've been concerned his issuing lately is more about a pissing match with him and the county board, and not an actual change of heart about carry rights). I also hope SCOTUS reaches the right ruling this year, national shall-issue at minimum, so then you can go to see the people who denied you with a ****-eating grin and demand your permit.

Also, regarding the verifying point, did they ever seem to question whether your stated green good cause was real? I.e., did you say you go hiking a lot, and they asked you to prove that and you came up short with the supporting evidence?

If there was no failure on your end but they let you proceed this far, then it sure as hell seems like an order came mid-process to stop issuing on green GC, or at least be much tougher on them.

Both friends had their interviews. They each got different deputies. Will be interesting to see how they progress.

My friend that applied third week off April got the proceed to training email. The one that applied the last week of April has not heard anything.

I see in your sig you did a live scan prior to interview, and training prior to LASD requesting. Any thought that may have hurt you during the process by not following LASD requests?

I gave them a mix and the deputy who interviewed me definitely ignored the green and focused in on my job so I can thank him for that at least. Either way I'm just going to keep crapping bricks and check my informed delivery. When I emailed the other week about my livescan they just said "ya the DOJ emails us your stuff", with no status on my app even though I asked for some kind of update lol. I bet mines at the bottom of the "DENIED" pile

I think this is right. It seems they may have tightened up on LG GC, but with yellow and red, I think you still have a good shot. Also, we have a subset of 1 LG GC denial as of now. Not conclusive until we see what happens with some others, but Seaweed seems like a solid dude who turned in a detailed app, so it certainly is cause for concern.
