May 25, 2021: Contacted to schedule an interview
April 14, 2021: $30 App Fee check deposited
June 3, 2021: Interview completed
June 3, 2021: Livescan submitted
August 13, 2021: LASD deputy requested one more piece of info to support my GC and asked if I completed my firearms training. Apparently my app indicated I had completed firearms training but no certificate supplied...think there was a miscommunication as my paperwork included 160 hours of certified handgun training completed before ever applying for the CCW.

Wish there was some level of reciprocity as I attended a CCW course and qualified shooting at a range in TX for my Texas CCW which a copy was made by the interviewing deputy. So waiting for a go ahead to get the CCW firearms training unless my GC gets denied.

Did they ask you for it? Or did you send it ahead of time? Some people tried to send it before they were asked and were told to hold onto it.

Dang...your timeline is very similar to mine and I haven't heard a peep...

They called me at first to clear some stuff with my good cause then they sent me the email. I received the email last week on Monday and got the training done yesterday

Need some helpful advise

Not sure where to begin here but I'll try to keep this simple.. I've already had my interview and live scan completed.. Although I have not been contacted by the ccw unit yet.. Before I gave in my application, I had questioned a possible red tier good cause but decided to leave that out.. Now that possibility has become a reality.. Someone I know from my highschool days has developed severe bipolarism and schizophrenia.. He knows where I live and has been leaving me multiple threats.. No words of killing or death, but threats of doing bodily harm to me.. I used to be a good friend to him but as the years have gone by he has gotten worse. He has been to La county jail twice for beating up his elderly father.. He is not taking his meds and is now lashing out at me and a couple other friends from the past.. He is literally delusional and I have tons of saved voice messages of him and his fictional stories.. One being that he believes a very dear friend of mine that I buried 16 years ago is now alive and is a zombie living with a horrible family.. I have that message from him as evidence that he has completely lost his mind.. I care about him as a brother but now I am worried about my family and I. Me and another friend of mine that has been getting harassed by him as well are thinking of going in together and getting a restraining order against him .

You guys think this would hinder my application process? or help it along? also would it be too late to add this to my good cause some how? I did not want to do this. I tried to give him many chances, I even lied to him and told him my family and I have moved to vegas so that he never comes knocking.. But I don't think he believes me now and he's has started with threats again simply because I don't respond back to him. The messages are pretty dark and sinister. He thinks that I am conspiring against him.. Again this is all false and it's in his mind.. I have plenty of saved messages from him to prove this.

Since you're already in process it may be too late...Plus I believe you need to get a restraining order or something to REALLY push you to get it faster. Maybe I'm wrong. Wouldn't hurt to ask your interviewing Deputy to see what he thinks?

Get the restraining order first. Once you have that you can update the deputy with the restraining order in hand and you can go from there.
