Now the waiting is game is like in the immigration process. I think most of the GCNs are not immigration. When I applied for Citizenship, I waited for a whole year to get the interview. And I waited for another month for the Oath ceremony. I learned patience from that.

        Uh oh .....today's LA times

Abcarian: Sheriff Villanueva is angry — at elected officials, at The Times, at lawlessness
Abcarian: Sheriff Villanueva is angry — at elected officials, at The Times, at lawlessness

But many of the progressives who voted for him feel betrayed, as my colleague Alene Tchekmedyian wrote July 12. And as he faces reelection with a weakening base, he seems to be swerving right — with a promise to issue more permits to carry concealed weapons (which I will address Wednesday, in Part 2 of this interview) and his law-and-order take on the homelessness crisis.
        ??.

Nothing is going in the right direction from a law enforcement perspective. Crime, homelessness, lawlessness, sure somebody has to be upset.

In other news, LeBron is a Laker.

I really think more and more of the Latino community supports his efforts in contrast to the efforts of the Board of Supervisors and City Council to undermine him at every step.

People are becoming increasingly fed up with the BS of LA politics. Homelessness rampant, Bonin and his friends pushing more equality of squalor, the DA not charging on crimes committed...people are having enough. Progressive or not, people want normalcy...and rampant crime and homelessness shall never be our "new normal."

This is damage control and propaganda from the leftists at the L.A. Times. Make no mistake, they see that AV is actually gaining popularity with a right leaning stance on crime and they can't let that stand. They'll do anything to undermine his efforts. This "news" article is a complete hit piece.

Villanueva should have liberalized issuance 6 months after taking office (2019 June) not a year and a half after. Maybe he thought SCOTUS would decide last year’s NYSRPA and give him political cover. Instead they allowed it to be mooted AFTER taking it.

Who said the NYSRPA case is going to be mooted? It’s set for SCOTUS’s October term…
There was a NYSRPA Carry case last session that was declared moot (on 2020 June 15 IIRC, after NYC repealed the ordinance and NY state passed a law forbidding such ordinances in the future), after being granted cert. (A very bad precedent that encourages state actors not to act until after a case have been granted, thus wasting SCOTUS’ time, money and effort.)

                                Thanks, I’ve edited my post.
