It doesn't hurt to ask, but they'll tell you the same thing I'm sure they've told numerous others. You have to wait until renewal.

Even if it is true the process for it is just too cost prohibitive for it to be done “regularly”. Submitting a new app, live scan, and training certification would be tantamount to filing for renewal so perhaps that is what the deputy meant. I’ve asked the deputy when I first applied, my interviewing deputy, and the deputy I picked up my permit from and all 3 said we have to wait for renewal. But who knows. If someone wants to spend the money and test it please let us know.

It’s not about us. I myself am very happy with my carry choices. I just don’t want others who are applying to believe they can change out their choices whenever they want if that is not the case. When I took my training there were 10 people in the class and just 1 person other than myself had 3 guns to put on their permit. Everyone else only had 1. They all wish they had something else to put on their permit but with the 1 in 30 rule and the shortage of guns they weren’t able to find one.

True. I mean is cool to have many firearms on ur ccw. But to be honest you will probably only be carry 1 for the rest of ur life. Well for me yes.

This also goes for those thinking of using basically as GC.

I'm an advocate of having anything you own that is carry-able on your permit up to the limit of what they will put on. It provides a layer of legal protection in unforeseen circumstances such as you are transporting and the gun you thought was unloaded was accidentally left with one in the chamber, or the lock you thought was locked did not really lock. How about if you have a jam that you cannot clear at the range? Also, if your primary EDC is not working properly or is in the shop, or if God forbid, you actually have to use it, that weapon will be confiscated for evidence and what will you carry in the meantime. There is no downside to filling your permit with all concealable weapons you own.
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

Having additional carry choices is a smart thing. As MajorCaliber said, sometimes unforeseen circumstances may force you to use a different gun. Realistically, I can get by with 2, a full size and a smaller, lighter gun for the summer months when I keep clothing to a minimum and concealment takes some planning and thought.

Umm. I think you misunderstood. I was replying to Lockdown on why we were discussing the ability to amend our firearms on our permits. Why it was important to not give misinformation so that people will fill up all 3 slots instead of thinking they could add it later. Of course you should fill up all 3 slots if you can.

No worries, I was not taking issue with what you said. It just seemed like a good point to add my $.02 about the value of filling the permit.
