my interview deputy was the one who told me to contact them after 8 weeks.. It's been 3 months..He was the one who mentioned that sometimes they misplace files so it's a good idea to call after 8 wks to confirm.. Bro stop with the sarcasm.. It doesn't help and I wouldn't be surprised if the the person who picks up the phone is not the one doing the interviews. If i'm wrong well then sue me if you want.. But I'm only following the directions I was given.. we have all spent $$ and time on this process.. Plus my phone call was 2 min. I've seen great advice given on this forum and false advise.. You are only assuming/guessing what ever info you are relying on this forum.. Unless you are an lasd ccw deputy, everything you are saying is assumed not fact.

I got called for my interview... October 7th....San Dimas Station...I applied May 10th..it was on a restricted call too!!...Good Cause: Yellow.

Just want to say, if everyone is pleased with what AV is doing, it's not a bad idea to make a donation to his re-election when possible. Money wins elections and if anyone wants to be able to renew after the election takes place it wont hurt to do everything we can. I don't buy any of the competitors who might say they will issue CCW as is happening now.

Lol. I was just giving you a hard time and cracking a joke but since you want to discuss it here we go.

First, if they answer the phone in the CCW unit they work for the CCW unit. Therefore they have some hand in the process.

2nd, yes your call was 2 minutes but was entirely selfish and didn’t help you or anyone. 2 minutes per call for every person who has applied adds up to a whole lot of minutes. Think in bigger terms and as part of a community.

3rd. I don’t need to be a LASD deputy to know when something is a waste of time. That’s how I know a wicker basket is not the best thing to use to carry water. It’s common sense.

Lastly, all my info is based on my experience and that of friends and family who have applied and picked up or is still in the process. I’d appreciate it if you stop wasting the deputies time so that their applications can be processed as soon as possible along with everyone else’s including yours.

I also think, calling names and cracking jokes is not a good way to encourage or assist others still waiting for their process. Answering the phone is still the job of these deputies whether you think wasting time or not. It is not selfish at all. In my long LE career, I always constantly reminded people below and partners that our job is to serve the public before anything else. They answer the phone because they had enough time to answer the phone. If they are super busy or got stuck on emergency then they won't answer the phone.

SO BE NICE TO OTHERS. A CRACKING JOKE IS NOT FUNNY TO THE PEOPLE WAITING FOR THEIR CALLS. IF YOUR POST IS SOLELY ABOUT MAKING JOKES AT OTHERS THEN YOU ARE NOT AN ASSET TO THIS TREAD AT ALL.
IF YOU GOT YOUR PERMIT THEN BE HUMBLE AND MOVE ON. DON'T ENJOY ON OTHERS HEARTACHE PLEASE.

Actually, I recently heard from a couple people who called in and actually got their process moving. One even got scheduled on the spot when he called in. Maybe they'll chime in here.

What number did you call. Is there a dedicated ccw number or do you have to call the stations in which you interviewed at??

Just because it’s the deputies job to answer phones as well doesn’t mean it’s not a waste of time when you call for something like a status update. Their time could be better spent elsewhere. Man power is limited as it is.

Not that it’s your business why I check this thread and haven’t moved along is as I have said I have friends and family who are still in the process and I check this thread for update on timelines and perhaps procedural changes like maybe them accepting dark green as good cause.

Also I hope he gets his license and many more people apply and get their as well as quickly as possible so yes, saying his call only took 2 mins is selfish as it slows down the process for everyone when they are inundated with status update calls/email.
