Thank you all for signing for the 09/27/21 CCW handgun tactics class.
The class is full. I will try to set up another class after this one.
This class is much different from your civilian CCW classes out there. We will be focusing on the actual tactics and skill improvement and legal review.

Slow morning at work so I thought to write up an FAQ since we seem to get the same unnecessary couple of questions every couple of days. If anyone wants to modify it or add to it, feel free. Would be nice for the new guys to NOT post questions to keep the page with up to date relevant information but refer to the FAQ.

This was an EXCELLENT service to the community. Kudos!

Suggestion 1: Where you discuss disclosure you might further clarify by saying that even things that have been expunged will still appear on their search, so you need to disclose EVERYTHING in this case regardless of what you assume might appear in their search. I've seen that specific point come up a few times.

Suggestion 2: On the advice regarding early training and perhaps livescans. We are getting to the point where the timelines are exceeding 6 months, and those applying now may be a year out. I don't know the answer, but I wonder if these documents have a expiration time, and if people might get training early only to have their training certificate "expire" and have to re-do it. What do we know about this possibility?

But from the last townhall, it looks like LASD only issued 20 permits in the last 7 days.
Maybe there will be another surge on the upcoming weeks.


We have Labor day on Monday, and we've seen what a Monday holiday does to the CCW process.

Expect to see ZERO /few calls next week.

I think the observation of 4th of July was on a Monday and if I remember correctly, very little action was going on for nearly two weeks.
