Than you of all people really should challenge the 90/30 day rule. That would be doing something.

We've tried all sorts of challenges to carry regimes. Before my time here, they even took one up to SCOTUS but got denied cert.

Now we are just hoping that SCOTUS finally mandates at least some form of shall-issue with the case before them this term. I think my colleagues did an amicus brief on it in fact.

What specifically is unorganized? My and my wife's process was pretty straight forward.
Apply. ******* Bleached. Interview. Livescan. Training. Issued.

The 7 people or less in LASD who are working on the CCW Unit can't focus 100% of their time on the CCW program. They have other responsibilities. Those are their orders.

People deserved more than a generic we got your app email replies. From time to time, public servants need to be reminded about the oath we took to serve and to protect the public. We work for the public, not the BS democrat bureaucrats.

Sure, everyone deserves a hand typed response to their progress, but with 7 people or less working the program with over 4,000 applications, they just simply don't have time to sit and write a Kim Jong Un style of Trump letter to every response. The generic response is to help process more applications. Unless you prefer them to answer emails and not process applications. There's only so much time they spend on CCW process.

Today is 8 wks since my interview and live scan. I was told to reach out if I didn't receive any notice by now.. So i took the chance and called the initial deputy who interviewed me this morning.. I left him a polite message reminding him that I was instructed to reach out by him and I also mentioned the generic email responses everybody is getting so that was the reason for my phone call.. I left my name and phone number so I guess we'll see..

13 weeks, ouch ... I would reach out.... There is a chance your application might have been misplaced.. Maybe!!! If I get a response I will inform everybody here if It was a good or bad... lol... If it was a good response then perhaps that might give you some hope to give them a call as well..

4/26 Interview Scheduled for 5/6
4/29 Livescan submitted
5/6 Interview, was told to proceed to livescan & asked about LAPD application status
5/23 Livescan completed, notified LASD
6/3 CCW unit replied "We will contact you when we receive the report from DOJ. It can take 4-6 weeks from the 5/23/21 date to receive."
6/21 LAPD denial received and acknowledged by LASD CCW unit

Dont worry. My dad hasn’t received a call for pickup either. Timeline is a week prior to yours

At the end of the interview, he told me to hold on and went to grab me a livescan form. He told me to hold onto this and wait for the next contact. So he didn't necessarily "ask" me to per se, but I waited a month after my interview and decided to get the livescan portion completed after seeing many in this thread do so.

The deputy seemed to not know much and said he was just placed in that department a week prior to my interview.

So same interview date as you and similar-ish timeline. In my post above, I mentioned I wasn't really told to get my livescan done, was just given the paper. So I'm going on 13 weeks from interview and just passed 7 weeks from livescan results.

Looks like this is their reason for going over the 30 days. Your live scan may show completed but they very well may not have received them from the DOJ yet. IIRC someone mentioned some results were emailed and some were snail mailed. Could be what is causing the disparity.

Yeah, because yours went fine, it doesn't mean that everything is fine and great. If LASD can't figure out how to streamline the process and treat each applicant properly based on the 1st come 1st service, then they should get additional help or revamp the damn process.

You asked for my solution, I will contact the Sheriff himself to get his butt to work if he wants to get re-elected again. I will tell him that irregular processing and generic emails just don't cut it here. As an officer in past and as a civilian in present times, it never stopped me from voicing concern for the public to my supervisor including the chief and my stupid commie senator and congressman.

If you see a problem, we need to stand and voice our concern to fix the problem. I see too many people not doing enough because it doesn't affect them.

I will always stand next to my brothers and sisters in Blue, but I will not hesitate to speak out against the wrongdoing and unnecessary bureaucratic BS that harms the public.
