I can't disagree with you here. From reading all of the interview after actions, it definitely seems the experiences/outcomes seem to vary widely.

Looking in from the outside and based on the information we get here, it certainly seems like everybody at LASO is not working from the same set of standards. It should not be that way. There should be one written set of standards that all deputies adhere to, otherwise the result depends on which deputy you get and what he had for lunch that day. For instance, is it really department policy to reject an applicant if he emails or calls too often, as has been suggested? If so, what is the exact standard for "too often"? Results that appear inconsistent and a process that is not transparent does not inspire the confidence and goodwill that I think AV would like to achieve.
I wish today's liberals could understand: You cannot be generous by giving away other peoples' money and you cannot demonstrate your virtue by your willingness to give up other peoples' rights.

I can write many good causes but which ones will be accepted? Do I have to cater my good cause based on the tier? How many should I include? I know we cannot use self defense. I'm trying to give myself the best chance at getting my CCW. Thanks for your input.

            @USMCAllen

I think being a Vet does help, the deputy asked my wife during her interview about 15 times if she was a vet. Recreational shooting meh....It seems like LASD is preferring yellow GC.

There's a good drive of 144+ good cause examples. Read a few of them. I thought I didn't have any good cause but after reading about 20 statements, I came up with 4 good causes of my own that was out side of "I like to do the pew pews"

I don't have it book marked, but just do a search for "drive.google" or someone smarter than me will share.

Also, you can message the Cuban or Vinh and paypal him $75. He'll write your good cause for you and send you a picture of his weiner as well.
Thanks for the tips. I tried finding the google drive but have no luck in finding it. I've heard of services like from lawyers who will help write your good cause statements. Any recommendations?

Hmmmm. I don't think anyone would recommend that because it should be written by you only and specifically why you need a CCW. You should look at previous posts on here or the CCW Advice thread.

Just be yourself and be grammatically correct. Make sure the GC statement isn't a few sentences. I wrote three paragraphs.

Thanks for the tips. Should I include as many that would apply to me? is there a limit to how many GC needed? The more the better? I know we would need to back our GC statements with evidence. What color tier guideline should I follow? From what is shown on the resource thread here its Light green which is Recreational risk. Thanks again!

My GC was work related as I have my own business and do a lot of traveling to meet with clients around South LA. It's hard to say ... I would suggest reading the advice thread if you are questioning the GC. Unfortunately in this state we have to provide a GC statement. Self defense won't work in LA.

                  Anytime!

The color GC map tells you what tier they are accepting. Although listed as light green we haven’t had too many of those being reported as acceptable GC yet. Use the strongest GC that applies to you. You can include the weaker ones too but of course you need to be able to prove any and all of them if asked. The smaller you make your circle the better.

                    For example:

                    Person 1:

                    Transports expensive items for work

                    Person 2:

Transports expensive items for work early in the morning or late at night.

                    Person 3:

Transports expensive items for work early in the morning or late at night to bad neighborhoods or remote areas.

All three above have similar GC but person #3 has the strongest because his situation is more unique than the other two.

Make yourself as unique as possible. The fewer people who have your acceptable GC the better. List any and all that applies to you. The deputy will choose one deemed acceptable to concentrate on.

                    Good luck

                      Lacosherriff Livestream just ended

Only news about CCW I heard is:

                      4599 applications received
                      1238 approved
235 in the hopper (meaning in process I guess)

He said about 1/3 of applications are being approved.

There were also questions about the length of application delivery to call for interview and also from interview to approval/denial but those weren't answered.
                      4/23/21- Application delivered to LASD
                      7/15/21- Interview
7/18/21- CCW Training Completed and livescan started

10/7/21- email to proceed with training, docs received by LASD

Sounds about right. When word got out there was a big jump in applications but also a big jump in denials. Most people probably just heard they were issuing, submitted their app saying self defense or something similiar and got denied. It went from 1/2 to 1/3. Strengthen those GC statements and up your odds people.
