    Yep, makes sense.

It took AV 5 1/2 weeks to go from announcement to putting his new CCW policy and process online. (Acc to Calicrap even after that the LEO involed with judging his GC didn't know of the change.) This next month is when brave, bold pioneers will apply for CCWs while more timid gunnies hold on to their mother's skirt strings. That brings us to the end of Aug. Sept is when I expect to hear about GC decisions (approved/denied). (I'm being conservative.)

For those approved, they then have to pass the GMC and DOJ background checks. The latter may be a problem given the nationwide flood of US DOJ and statewide flood of CA DOJ checks being run due to panic gun buying due to CV19 and BLM "peaceful protests"(TM). I have no idea how long this step will take.

Then there's the little matter of getting CV19 compliant training. What sort of wait list will they have?

After all of that is final approval (or denial), and make an appointment to come in and pick up their CCW. My *guess* is sometime before Jan 1st, unless there's a flood of applicants. But with CV19 shutdowns/lockdowns continuing and flu season coming up, who knows what other factors may get in the way.
Last, is for people to post on CGN that they've got their CCW.
Talk is cheap correct? I'll believe it when I see it, which I haven't yet!

I applied. Received a call a couple of weeks after sending the app in. The female deputy told me I would have a better chance if I applied in Orange County since my good cause mainly dealt with work and I work in OC.

Business CCWs are good for only 90 days and, IIRC, only good in the county that issues them. You have to go through the whole application process (think time, money and effort) every 90 days: >8x for 2 years!

A standard/resident CCW is good for 2 years.

If you live in LA Co apply with LASD unless you live in a LA Co city that has a PD that issues CCWs. Then you apply with them first and if you get denied, you submit that denial letter along with another app for LASD.

What is key is what your GC is like. Going by post #31 at: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1482924

        (1) what "color" does your GC fall under?

        (2) if you feel comfortable (or PM it to me), what number does your GC fall under?

If I pursue this again, it will be light red. Firearms instructor with publicized classes and schedule information that is publicly available. In addition, I do transport loaner guns for students, often to the tune of thousands of dollars worth of guns and ammo. Classes sometimes occur in isolated locations. I not holding my breath, but we'll see soon enough.

My understanding is that business CCWs are "never" issued. I've never heard of someone getting one, although that doesn't mean it has never happened but... Re-applying every 90 days and valid only in the county of issuance - not a good deal. Not worthwhile to pursue it.

            Apply in LA!

Or move to a county that issues and stop wasting your time hoping for something that won't happen!

I would be Light Red but, I am not a business owner, I am an employee. i haven't pursued a OC permit because I don't want to renew every 6 months.

If you get a letter from employer supporting the application and willingness to accept liability that would make your GC Yellow. Still worth risking a whopping $10 to find out if you'd pass IMO. Or you could wait to see how people with Light Red GCs do before trying. But if you do that, and they pass, there might be tons of applications ahead of yours when you do get around to submitting one.

90 days means approx. every 3 months: >8x business CCWs vs one 2-year residential/standard CCW.

While it was originally made for CoCoCo residents, I've since modified it and incorporated info from other restrictive SOs to make it applicable to any non-Green county. In post #31 there I explain all about the colors of the CA CCW GC map and figuring out what is the color of your GC.

Indeed it is! Totally different layout (now with updated changed policy), and more information about the process step by step. Interesting to see how the next few months goes.

I was honestly skeptical when AV first announced the 400% increase in CCWs, but these latest developments have given me some optimism. I'm going to apply via LAPD first since I'm an LA resident and need to be rejected by them first before applying to LASD.

These is a list of the LAPD that agree with LASD to issue CCW, correct? If my local LAPD is not in this list, then I, probably, will get deny CCW application, correct?
