Good luck guys. The process, as mentioned, in my last post I think is streamlined now that livescans are a fraction of the time. 7 Deputies working the cases, with more coming from other departments.

AV is really making good on his word of 400% more CCW permits in LA.

Hello CG CCW therapy group!

Completed my interview this morning. All the usual questions:

Am I now, or have I ever been, a member of the communist party?
Do I put ketchup on a hot dog.?
Explain the infield fly rule in 30 words or less.
Less Filling or Tastes Great (yeah, I'm old)

A very relaxed process with a very pro 2A deputy. Encouraged me to spread the word and get everyone to support AV. We reviewed my GC statement for a bit and he seemed satisfied. He asked, when he picked up my file, why there was so much paper in it. Told him it is because I am anal retentive. He smiled.

At the end, he handed me the Livescan and Trainers list and told me to do the Livescan and get training. He did say that the final decision is with higher-ups, but I'm interpreting that as a good sign. Submitted Livescan on the way back to the office and have scheduled training.

He also said there were 4 deputies doing the interviews and 3 people doing admin and that they were, "buried".

Same thing I was told yesterday about the 7 total people working CCW.

All issuing letters will be dated on Monday. It looks like the undersheriff signs off on the approvals by bulk on Monday. There was about 12-15 letters next to mine waiting for pick up today.

So let's average 12 pick ups per day. Pick ups seem to happen Tue-Wed-Thursday

2/1 - Application Submitted
2/3 - Delivered
2/9 - Application on hold - denial letter from LAPD required (Because I'm an idiot)
2/19 - Check cashed
4/5 - LASD no long requires denial from LAPD
4/14 - Call to discuss GC
4/21 - Interview & Live Scan
5/15 - CCW Training
5/19 - Livescan Clears (4 weeks)
5/19 - Emailed completed required training certificates
6/21 - Contacted for pick up license
6/23 - Pick Up

The Deputy who interviewed me yesterday texted me asking if I had the other docs ready to email him. Seems like he's trying to push me through to go do livescan and what not ASAP. Unfortunately, my boss is lagging on getting a letter to me. The waiting continues but at least the first hurdle has been overcome.

6/21 - Call to schedule interview

The CA and FBI portions generally comes back in a day or less. The firearms portion was the part that was taking forever back in April/May. Judging from other who submitted recently you should be good in less than a week.

Might be a dumb question, but I also recently finished my interview. I was given the livescan sheet. How do I proceed forward on that? Do I go to any Livescanner, pay the fees, and just do the fingerprinting that way or do I have to actually do it at a station?
