What location are you asking about? The interview, the livescan, or something else?

For LASD, recent people have reported that the interview is performed over the phone if you have no criminal record. Most other people interview at Monterey Park, and you were told when they were ready to interview you.

For online I don?t know when they?ll tell you but my guess is they?ll call you as your appointment date nears.

Called again today, they repeated the same thing and that they're finishing up September...expect a call in the next few weeks

Late July I got a call from LAPD to schedule my interview (that I applied for in March 2023), but it was for December so I told them to hold off. Figured I might as well continue with LASD. Not sure if that was the best decision, but it seems like LASD is doing phone interviews so hoping I get that over with soon.
Im in a similar situation as you. Mailed in my app on 6/28/22, live scan done on 4/10/23 and...nothing. Im starting to wonder if I should drop a packet with LAPD and see if that might be faster.

i guess i will just have to wait.
based on spreadsheet by aguynamedbryan just to get call takes about a year. at least.

If you're already this close I would just follow through with LASD, it covers you if you chose to move out of the city.

What Calbix said... unless you want to go through 16 hours of training and spend more for pysch eval with LAPD then just wait it out.

I sent my app back in July and Im 13 months waiting, but I rather wait for LASD than to apply with LBPD to spend more money to try and get it with the limitation of only 1 firearm to be on the ccw permit.

LAPD only requires 8 hours and no psych eval.. Maustro, it wouldn't hurt to take the LAPD interview, as time from interview to issuance is much shorter than LASD. For my brother is was about 30 days, whereas it could be 3-5 months from interview to issuance with LASD.

If you are already a year in waiting for LASD, you might as well keep waiting, as switching to LAPD now won't save you much time, if at all.

Plus there's additional costs and the psych eval, doesn't make the LAPD's CCW more appealing than LASD's.

I dropped my app of in person in June of 2022. They sat on it until November, then it was entered into the system.

Mail it, or go online. Don't drop it off.

another question......after submitting my application online i realized I forget a couple things I would like to disclose....there is no option to edit my application but there is an option to submit more documents...would it be wise to write a letter in notepad disclosing those incidents and submitting that by uploading it in the document section or wait till the interview to verbally inform them?

can't hurt to be proactive. I'm sure they will appreciate you removing any surprises.
