I ended up going in person to the SMC office on a Friday, there was an issue with my submission... apparently my certificate was not attached when it got forwarded. I was able to get everything sorted and got my permit issued.

KTVU announced this morning that they rehired Victor Aenlle to a volunteer role in the CCW unit to help with the backlog.
The embattled San Mateo County sheriff has appointed her alleged paramour, Victor Aenlle, to assist in the sheriff's Concealed Carry Weapons unit, KTVU has learned.

I had my CCW renewal qualification yesterday with Saber Tactics, and as always it was a professional and enjoyable experience, up in the woods at the beautiful Los Altos Rod and Gun Club, heartily recommended!

Bay Area firearms training, Bay Area Personal Protection training, CCW classes, CCW training, 1911/ 2011 transition course, Women's self defense, active attacker response, law enforcement training,

I finally got the call to pick up my permit this week. 6 weeks since taking the course. Hope that helps set expectations.

Picked up my new permit today, all smooth, and thanks to all at Saber Tactics and the SMCSO's CCW unit, which BTW is now located at 330 Bradford Redwood City, CA (nice new digs!).

To those renewing for the first time, were you required to take the psych. testing? It does say "new applicants" on the website, but when I first got license, there was no psych testing. But the others who applied earlier than me, claims to have taken it.

I had to do a zoom interview when I renewed. Per the guy I was speaking with since the psyche interview was implemented later they wanted to have those who were renewing go through it as well so technically everyone with a CCW has gone through the process. It's pretty straightforward, guy was friendly and the whole thing took about half an hour.
