I think if the bold was really required, we'd see issues in the 26 or so constitutional carry states. You know the media would make sure even the most MINOR incident was plastered over national media. I would also say 26 states and whatever # people CCWing is a pretty good sample size.

I read this today, which was interesting (there are more in other related articles, but he mentioned its too easy to get guns despite having a mental illness)

Louisville bank shooter Connor Sturgeon wrote a chilling manifesto before slaughtering five senior executives at the branch where he worked, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

However, I also found it interesting that he CHOSE to kill people despite knowing his mental illness, it was a deliberate justification for mass murdering people. I just dont even know what to make of all that really. He was using warped thinking to justify himself.

I just know I would like my CCW because there are threats out there which without a CCW I would be very vulnerable (maybe its just our speed and ease of access to worldwide media which I perceive this as so).

With regards to the interview questions, I wonder what the result would be if you just declined to answer personal questions. Someone would have to test those waters and see if they were still issued a permit.

The media is having a field day with the mistaken doorbell shooting in Missouri, mistaken driveway shooting in New York, and mistaken car shooting in Texas right now.

I had my CCW interview today. It was completed via Microsoft Teams with Lori Krause, a management analyst.

The interview took 15-20 minutes. Lori started off by introducing herself and said that the interview would consist of questions I already answered on the CCW application as well as some supplemental questions that were not on the application.

              The following questions were asked:
              • How long have you lived at your current address
              • Who do you live with
              • Where do you work, what do you do, how long have you worked at your current job
              • Do you get along well with people you live and work with
              • How would the people you live/work with describe you as a person
              • Are you currently in a relationship
              • Have any past relationships involved domestic violence
              • Have you ever applied for/had a CCW permit
              • Have you ever been:
                Arrested
                Detained/questioned
                Cited for traffic infractions
Mentioned by name in a police report (as a perp, victim, or witness)
                Involved in any civil lawsuits
                Involved in any physical/verbal altercations
A member of any gang/motorcycle club
              • Have you ever used any drugs (including marijuana)
              • Have you ever had a medical marijuana card
              • Have you ever been placed on a psychiatric hold, admitted to a psychiatric facility, or treated for mental health
              • Are you currently taking any pysch medications (including those for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder)
              • Are you currently taking any other prescription medication

At the end of the interview, she stated that my application would now move up the chain of command, and ultimately to the Sheriff, for final decision. She saw that I had applied back in August 2022, acknowledged that it has been a long wait, and said that the process for me should be much quicker from this point forward. I tried asking for a timeframe, but she could not provide one. She told me to look out for further email correspondence and to refrain from completing the required training until approved.

It took them about 2 months to approve me after the interview in February.

If I see someone driving a gt3 from now on, I'll think they have their CCW

I would be particularly interested in seeing the basic stats from the sheriff's office on the results pre-interview / post-interview (# declined, reason for decline). I am curious if the interview is uncovering anything significant (somebody is obviously crazy). Asking the same questions on the application does not on first glance provide anything substantive.

I am sure it is to weed out crazy/wake jobs

Someone could look good on paper and in person a few flags could show up that may trigger the investigator too task someone to go dig a little deeper into that person

Btw, thanks posting about your experience. It was great to already have a sense of what to expect going into the interview.

I remember the interviewer telling me she would approve me based off the interview if it was up to her. She also said shes been involved in law enforcement for over 20 years and has a pretty good read on people.

Question on traffic tickets history and update on Casey from the Sheriff's Office

                                Hi Everyone,

FYI Casey Terribilini from the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is retired.
Robert Pronske replied to my email because I never received the Livescan instruction form for over 100 days. He was extremely helpful.

Not sure if this has been posted before. Livescan is being perform only at Pack and Mail Express in Redwood City. They do not take appointments and are on a walk in basis only.

On a separate note, I want to ask will there be a problem if I don't remember the exact date of traffic tickets (infractions). It was over 15 years ago and DMV has no record of it either.
