I think your other questions were answered so I'll attempt to answer question 3. This is not specific to your Shield but to a gun with a manual safety. One of the firearms I qualified with was the Beretta 92FS. At the line, the RSO didn't ask or care about the manual safety. My procedure was to load the magazine with the slide locked to the rear and the safety off. Once the magazine was inserted and the slide released (bullet in the chamber and 5 bullets in the magazine), I activated the safety before inserting the gun into the holster. Once in the holster, I removed the safety so the firearm was ready for the draw. Again, this was just my procedure. Good luck!

This is only the second CCW permit shooting I can remember hearing about in CoCo in like 20 years. And the other one had the same outcome.

Conversed with the Sherriff's specialist regarding their "progress".
They are currently working on the April '23 applicants. So it appears they have not picked up the pace in the slightest over the last year and a half."Let criminals out. Let illegals in. Let boys in the girls bathrooms. Condemn police officers. Abort babies. Pervert the children. Condemn Christians. Accept barbarity in the name of Islam. Overtax the hard working people. Coddle the lazy. That's the liberal way." -from a posting on "Yahoo"Comment

You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We'll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we'll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness. (Ronald Reagan, 1964)Comment

Checking if anyone may know what the reason is for more waiting after a passing qualification shoot for the coco county issued ccw permit. I am on week 3 following it and did email them today however only received back the
same auto generated permitium email that I need to schedule the qual...which has been completed. Perhaps
they are backlogged with people coming in to pay and receive permits but not clear as to why I am coming up on week 4 and nothing after a sucsessful qual. I did notice a sentence in the email I received on instructions for qualification day that states "Completion of the qualification is only a step in the issuance of a permit" Thanks if anyone has more knowledge on this. It's not uncommon. From what I understand the Sheriff still signs every permit and if he's on vacation or has other priorities they just sit on his desk.

That's weird. I did my qualification early in March and got contacted 2days after by phone/email to pay online and book a time to pick up my permit. Have you tried calling? They usually contact you within a week of passing from what I was told/ᐠ - ˕ -マ ᶻ 𝘇 𐰁Comment

Thanks gentlemen. Will just phone them mid week next week. I did take a photo
of my second target but didn't think to take a photo of my form on the clipboard. I guess at this juncture it warrants a phone call in. Appreciate the feed back from you both.Comment

Are you a "Martinez" CCW holder or did you acutally mean CCCSO in Martinez?
If CCCSO CCW, are you a long time CCW holder in CCC (which I had heard from the retired RO were possibly grandfathered in at 3) or has the CCCSO made a recent change to increase the number of allowed firearms from 2 to 3?
Martinez PD. I believe they are making Martinez residents go through the SO now, which sucks.Comment
