For renewals, training jumps to 8 hours in January from SB2. If my permit expires in January but my window to renew opens in December, can I do a 4 hour class in December or do I have to complete an 8 hour class.

Is any of the litigation attacking new training requirements?

My 90 days is up on 11/12. I realized I could've used Google to tell me 90 days ha.

Since 11/12 is a Sunday, I'll be sending an email on Monday morning 11/13. I just bought the P365, so hopefully I get an answer. If denied, then next thing. If approved, then I'll be racing to get the gun and my training done before the year starts. I want the feeling of carrying just a few times before SB2.

I think I would call the sheriff's office and ask them which class you have to take. My suspicion is that if your permit is going to be issued in Jan, then you need the 8 hour class.

Nice..mine is up 7 days after you, the following Sunday.
I just picked up my p365 two days ago so I am hoping to get approval asap. Wish you the best. The unconstitutional regulations/pseudo-laws here are sickening.

Got approved. Literally got the call, text, and email. 90 days for sure. All automated. Yay!

Now I'll know what it feels like to carry before SB2.

Let us know how it goes. I was going to do this Saturday as well, but the P365 released and I wanted it on the list. I'm taking mine next Friday at dgm.

if u don?t have your AZ non-resident permit already, make sure u ask Kyle about getting your prints rolled. Unless DGM changed it, u can get them done for no extra charge.

It's been a while since I updated this.

It's been a while since I updated this.

Bleg: if you know current issued counts for OC, Riverside, or Berdoo, please let me know. I'd really like to update those to current for comparison.

SDSO CCW Currently Issued 15810 as of 11/1/23 (overall Δ per day: +7.15; last ~6m Δ per day: +22.26).

Thats 4.79 per 1,000 residents for San Diego County.

By way of comparison, in 2019 San Diego was at 0.34, and Shasta was at 45.5. Among counties with comparable populations, in 2019 Orange County was at 3.73, Riverside at 1.24, and San Bernardino at 3.24.

Foototes: During late 2022 there were some fluctuations in the reported figures. The update of 24 Jun. also included an acknowledgement of NYSRPA v. Bruen and some related commentary. The update of 16 Jul. changed the number reported from "Current CCW Licenses Issued" to "CCW Licenses Active" and the figure dropped by about 10%. The update of 18 Jul. (only two days later) changed the language again, to "Total CCW Licenses Active" and the figure recovered about 5%. The update of 25 Aug. recovered about another 5%, returning the data point to roughly in line with the previous trend. Beginning with the Jan. 2023 update, the data from Jul. 2022 onward is highlighted.

CA county data sourced from https://web.archive.org/web/20210817...32198382.html; if you have more recent data, please let me know.

Just completed my course at DGM and it was quite enjoyable.

Kyle handled most of the classroom mixing in real life experiences along with the training material. This had the added benefit of being able to relate what the training was trying to get across with events that most people could relate to. The class was low stress and Kyle took time to answer any questions people may have.

For the practical shooting portion of the class we went in groups of three. Range rules and expectations were discussed first thing in the morning. In the case of my group, we made it to the range before they officially opened and had about 4-5 lanes for us to choose from. The instructor had us start shooting at the seven yard mark and work our way back using both hands then single handed firing at three yards. We had a pretty good group and with each of us qualifying three firearms each we were done in about 20 minutes, even worked in some drills. The whole shooting experience was extremely professional, efficient and low stress.

Some may notice that I mention low stress a couple of times. The reason I do this is because it seems to be a topic of discussion when comparing places to get your certification.

I highly recommend these folks for your certification needs.
