Unable to deliver guns

I am at day 13 also. I was told that most are completed by day 15. So I guess Friday will hopefully be the day.

I am not seeing anymore at the 10 day mark, I suspect the over eager DOJ rep is taking time off. All mine are now averaging over 15 days to approve or longer.

Back in the 90's right after the riots in Los Angeles Dan Lungren, the Republican Attorney General, extended the then 15 day wait to 20 days because he said the DOJ was overwhelmed. This was back in the day when the DROS forms where mailed to DOJ and the internet was not yet in widespread use. It lasted several months and then it went back to 15 days.

Also, I seem to remember that ammunition sellers back in the 70's used to record handgun ammunition sales, including .22 ammo. Some had you enter your name and age into a loose-leaf or spiral binder.

Actually, the waiting period was 10 days plus 5 days for mailing the documents, so when it went electronic, the 5 days had to be eliminated.

That was an original provision included in GCA 68. Sign a ledger, and show ID. No wait though.

I was too young, but I remember my father buying handgun ammo in the 70's and having to show his CDL. They would write that information onto a notebook. I think that it was an ATF requirement not a state requirement. I think it was part of the 1968 gun control bill. If I remember correctly it was eliminated sometime in the late 70's or early 80's because it was just a paper exercise.
