Report it to the CA DOJ.

At this point, just to be able to get a PPT done it's worth it. Still not legal for them.

It is illegal to charge additional fees for a CA PPT. That is how it is not legal.

Wow - a straight $60 for background check and no further detail. Then $5 lock and sales tax on the entire amount due.

Good to know never to step inside this guy's shop.

Were you in line for 5 hours waiting? was this shop packed with mouth breathers standing next to you? What's your time worth?
Sheeit...If not, I say you got a deal for your money. Most FFLs are packed through next month.
me personally, i'd gladly pay a few bucks extra to get in and out and not wait hours and hours.

                      cheers

Kinda crap photo. Please Bear in mind that I did not need an FSC card...
That's clearly a violation of the law.

How did you pay for this transaction?

If you paid by CC all you need to do is to call them and let them know that this dealer violated CA law and charged you more than legally allowed.

Here's a link to the CA DOJ website that shows how much they can charge and the PC that covers it.

How much is the annual Centralized List fee and when must it be paid? What is a California Firearms Dealer (CFD) number? They will reverse the charge and the dealer will have to cover the DROS fee himself. Sounds kinda harsh but that's what he gets for trying to screw you in the first place.
                            Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

If the transaction is a PPT, in addition to the state fees, you may charge up to $10.00 or less
