        Good for you.

I have always told people the same thing when they walked into Bullseye Sport and asked me how reliable a Glock was. I said there is only one MAJOR flaw with a glock that might never be fixed and it has been there in most if not all of their models. Everytime you pull the trigger it fires...

I had a Gen2 that I picked up in 1998 and I liked it a lot- My first G-17, then without thinking I updated the frame later on by sending it into Glock and paying them $150 and they sent me back my G-17 but with a rail underneath it. (cause I wanted a rail even though I do not use it, I want that option).

The only problem I ever had with any Glock was my G-21 that liked to dump shells on my head, but sending the slide back to Glock fixed that issue. My glocks have always eaten everything I fed them, but now my only Gen-4 is my 42.

Maybe later this year I might get another Gen-4, maybe a longslide 9mm. Right now though I gotta get my P320 out of jail... Heh. :\

Report back how it shoots after you get some range time. It is always nice to hear other opinions on guns.

Neither of my G42s are a Gen 4. Neither is the G30s I got this summer. How did you get so lucky?

            Aren't all 42's gen 4? I was unaware there was a gen 3 model.

^^^^^Effectively they are. It's just they are not marked Gen4 on the slide, though they do have features of Gen4 pistols (grip texture, magazine catch,).

@jdben, 30s is Gen 3 only, hence, no Gen 4.

Regardless of whatever generation they associate with, I still want one.

I picked her up before work BUT I didn't have time to test fire a few rounds.

First impressions: Man this thing is light compared to my current duty carry P229. Also, even though the gun is a full size it fits better in my hands than the 229. I cant get over how much lighter it is in the holster even with 17+1.

I will probably go out shooting on Saturday morning.

That's the polymer speaking. Honestly sometimes I think my G34 is lighter than my P229 unloaded.

EDIT: The internet says my hands are lying to me, but I dunno.

                      Alright!!!

So I just got back from putting about 100 rounds through her. Man this trigger is half the distance of my Sig. Group was pretty tight HOWEVER... All my groupings were to the left.

From what I've read online it's my fault. Any insight from Glock dedicated Glock fans?

Speaking as someone who had the same issue when going from full size Gen3 pistols to Gen4. Try putting a bit more of the pad of your finger on the trigger and really work on pulling straight back...so much so that it feels like you are actually pulling back to the right (if you're right handed).

Over time, my groups moved back toward the center. I don't know what exactly it was, as I didn't have any problem with my Gen3 guns, but there was just enough difference with the trigger feel to cause the difference.

ETA: Also be sure your rear sight is centered, and not moved toward the left at all.

                          Thanks Dave.

I'm going back to the range tomorrow to try a few things. Grip and finger.

Also I'm having my bro who is also a LEO go and try the gun. Not that LEOs can shoot any better than a well versed person. Haha

I had the same issue with my gen 4 17. It resolved itself after a couple range trips and I think it had to do with the small difference in grip circumference between the gen 3 and gen 4. I was used to a gen 3 Glock 22 prior to getting the 17. Once I got used to the gun I had no issues. My duty carry is a gen 3 glock 21. Big difference in grip size there. Borderline too big.

                              Are the grips dotted?

I thought all the dotted gripped ones, like dotted in a grid pattern were gen-4. Plus since the G-42 just came out I do not think it would be considered a gen-3.

But I just walked into OCA and bought one. Granted it came with a 7" barrel but it was back to normal after I came back for my pickup.

I had slight issues with the pressure from my support hand when going from Sig to Glock. My thumb pad has the worst time wrapping around the Sig cause of that groove near the back of the frame; I don't have this problem with the Glock, so the sight picture came out a little off at first.

Dry fire and wall drills all day every day, it'll work itself out.
