I believe 5.11 is still having 25% off all products right now... They had a huge sale a few weeks back apparently; I heard tshirts were like $3 and boots as low as $30.

The sweet spot was the zippers you threaded into the laces, but I don't see them anymore.

Glad I didn't pay for them but I have been wearing these for the last 6 months or so. They are not the most comfortable boots but no other problems yet. Check out Oakley's boots. They are tennis shoe comfortable. Oakley used to have a LEO purchasing program that will give you near half off prices. You just have to register with them and send them a copy of your creds.

Thats the exact reason I had to get rid of them. One had developed a hole. It was tough throwing them away. They were good boots and I actually bought those myself.

you do realize a shoe repair shop can install a zipper replacement correct?

Gnome- ban me for a firemen joke? This is a LE centric forum section, cops and firemen make fun of each other...and prior to being a cop I was a fireman. 4.5 years. Wearing zippered Danner boots no less!

Their bags are good. I'm going on 2 years of abuse and no tears yet on a rush 12.

                      WTB used AK MFER.

Same here except with a 72, and its been over 3 years and I treat my bags like absolute crap. They hold up very nicely.

You should look at your bag under night vision though. I would have happily paid the extra $3 it would have cost them not to cut that corner. Not a big sticking point, but it just looks stupid.

If you contacted 5.11 with the problem, hopefully they will make it right?

lol... unless a lot changed with 5.11, even most of their dealers hate their guts and dread dealing with them. I've spoken with more than one dealer who basically said they make mostly decent stuff, but they sure suck as a company.
