If you kept your receipt you would get a new pair of boots. You can either return them to the vendor or send contact 5.11 and get a RMA from them.
Two weeks ago I had a small tear in one of my gloves from doing a cell search. I took it back to Crescent Work and Outdoors they ordered me a new pair; they would have given me a new pair or exchanged for any of same value, but I really needed that specific glove, but it was out of stock.Last edited by Funtimes; 12-02-2013, 10:13 PM.Lawyer, but not your lawyer. My oakley boots are about the most comfortable thing I have worn in a really long time!Shocker, a clothing company has crappy boots.
Buy things from companies that know what they're doing. I buy boots from Merrell because Merrell is a boot company - not a clothing company. 5.11 is a clothing company first, a bag company second, and a tactical accessories company third - making boots comes somewhere after that.
Would I buy a backpack from the people that make my boots? Probably not, because it's not their skill set - same reason knife manufacturers rarely make good guns and guns manufacturers rarely make good knives. Same reason Samsung doesn't have any business making refrigerators and GE doesn't have any business making tablet computers.Lawyer, but not your lawyer. Posts aren't legal advice.Comment

5.11 is crap. Magnums are only slightly better. When I was a firefighter, they worked well for station boots and light duty stuff, but anything heavy duty needs a stitched sole.
White's Boots FTW.

When it comes to jackets and backpacks I disagree
I find these 5.11 products to be of excellent qualityComment

I have been using the same pair of Coyotes 8" lace up ATACs for about 3 years..... No prob and they have much life left.
I have a pair of Zippered 8" ATAcs that survived the academy and have been worn weekly since 2008 and again... no problems.
Super comfortable and wear like sneakers.Comment

Danner Boots are by far the best on the market.... I understand they are expensive, However my danner's both solid sole and soft sole have lasted me 8+ years in the field..... Best boot I've bought!Comment

I have worn two pairs of the 5.11 ATAC 8" boots for the last 3+ years and they have been been really good for me. I love the zippers and no problems.
OP- 5.11 stands behind their products and will probably send you a new pair. I have done a lot of work with their CS department and they have treated me very well.
OP- I have have a pair of 5.11 ATAC boots that are still good in size 10.5. If you cover shipping, I'll send them to you. PM me if interested.Comment

This and this
I like their pants too but I'm kind of judicious about where I wear them. I really don't like the idea of looking like some mall ninja.
I used tactical boots on the job for years and never zipped a single one. Yes, they are meant to be laced, not zipped.sigpic
