They will get back to you. It takes them a while. The GOV has a way of taking their time and doing things a@@ backwards. You get used to it really quick when you get hired.

      To all,

I know that some of you have posted about CASS not being up to date. I spoke to MHC today and they told me that CASS is "several weeks behind in being updated due to the numerous amounts of recent applicants".

Additionally, there will be "no medicals/PFT 1/Polys due to the CBP budget not being approved yet". Expect all communication to come in the form of an email unless told otherwise.

Lastly, "all" applicants will now have to take the polygraph. What is being decided is where in the process the "cutoff" will take place. Furthermore, they are looking to hire approximately 80 more polygraphers provided the budget gets approved as written.

Wish I had better news. Sorry ladies and gents!
So for those of us waiting on our Med/PFT1... looks like we're standing by to stand by.

To C.W.M.V., if you haven't already, I'd recommend re-applying... you can do so immediately, and your NOR will carry over. You only have to wait 6 months before reapplying if you fail the OB. It's likely you're still showing active on CASS because they haven't updated it yet... heck, mine still shows my OB as pending!

The whole process from written exam to stepping foot at the academy lately has been averaging just over 2 years for most applicants. Check out honorfirst.com for TONS of Border Patrol info. It is a very useful forum for Border Patrol applicants. There is also a forum for spouses bpspouses.com that is a support group and Q&A forum for spouses and girlfriends.

Keep checking CASS, your email and your mail to make sure that you do not miss anything that might be sent to you from MHC. It is a long road but one that is well worth it!

Keep at it guys! The Border Patrol is currently putting 1 class of 50 through the academy every week. Rumor is that by June they will be putting 2-4 classes of 50 through there every week!

when i first saw the pix i thought holy crap bp is getting raptors?? then i realized they were only for the sups and reality came back to me. at my port on the customs side, all the sups and above drive dodge chargers, ford expeditions, and the brand new ford exploders. as for us "regular" officers we get the new ford interceptors if were lucky otherwise we drive incredibly beat up older model interceptors, exploders and tauruses. oh wells...

If only the government could operate more like a corporation does. Every time I've gone through a hiring process privately (including the times I've had to jump through hoops and relocate) it hasn't taken more than a month or two.

Well bringing this one back, who else is doing their interviews now? I got notice yesterday that my interview is tomorrow. Guess its time to pull the suit out of the back of the closet!

Yeah, I wonder how much the hiring freeze is going to affect the hiring timeline.

yes, who knows what is going to happen because of the FCIC and budget cut issue.
