Most likely you guys will end up on the Southern Border. California, Arizona, or Texas. The hot spots! This hiring madness came from the President with that extra $600 million. Good luck!

I tested on 8/24 (got an 83 overall), received my NOR on 9/1, TO on 9/15. Fired off my BI paperwork, including the 2 SF87A's week before last. No idea when I'll hear from MHS for the oral interview, physical, drug screen, etcetera.

I listed CA as my preference, since I'm a native San Diegan, but I could handle TX too, seeing as I have family there.

I also had a one on one ride along a few weeks ago with an agent from the IB station. That was a huge eye opener, just seeing all the work they've put into what's called the tactical infrastructure (dual fences, cameras, etc) and the scale of some of the work (nearly doubling the number of lanes at the San Ysidro crossing, filling in Smuggler's Canyon).

Most importantly though, is I understand the importance of what they're doing and believe in the mission: protecting the borders of the US, and consider myself fortunate to be working my way forward in the selection process.

SD Sector HQ is off the 805 exit Otay Lakes Rd. and go east. Left on Lane Ave. Good Luck.

For the oral interview, does applicant have to take stuff like college diploma, DD214 for military personnel, and certificate degree or license he or she has earned?
I do have my DD 214, but I do not have my AA college diploma with me right now. I have never applied for it and I think I might have missed the deadline to apply for it. My educational goal was to transfer and earn 4 year degree so I never bother to request for my AA degree diploma. I do have my AA degree in my college file tho.

Unless it has changed, I think all you have to bring is Yourself and ID. Wear a suit. I know the last one should go without saying, but you would be surprised what people show up in.

okay, always grateful for your time and your help Meangreen46
I have my ID and as for the suit (not expensive one lol) maybe I should ask my parents to buy me one for good luck present ^^
Most of the time I am the one giving my parents money & allowance, but they can afford to buy me a $100 suit from local tailor shop.

Anytime I can help...just let me know. As for the suit..no reason to spend more money than needed. Just as long as you look professional. You would be fine with a shirt and tie....but I think a suit looks better (my opinion). There was a guy who showed up at my oral in t-shirt, jeans and a trucker baseball cap. Yes, he stuck out like a sore thumb and you could tell the PA's were fighting over who was gonna get him to interview.

lol, thanks for the offer and help, but its okay. I really need to buy one since my old one is too small for me. I think I am going to buy one from local store or menswarehouse this November. Good luck with your interview Recession and show those board agents how much asset you can be to them.

Target sells some pretty decent suits for under $100. I kid you not! They were featured in a recent GQ magazine article on budget suits. If it's not a suit you're going to be wearing everyday, it should suit your needs.

Besides the suit and ID, you also need one copy of your resume or the OF-612 you submitted.
