Thats why we upgrade them right?(Beside making them look badass!) To help us perform better and faster right?
I have concluded that this is 100% a troll thread. No one who could even spell their name correctly on the application would post such drivel. Thanks for the laughs buddy.

Not to much like that. Maybe a trigger, sights, and magwell and extension.

Well at least you have a mature response which shows how cool headed you are. Just because you were/are a marine and you can shoot real fancy like, doesn't mean you are going to be a good police officer. It also doesn't mean that everyone is automatically going to respect you in the law enforcement world. With an attitude like that, you are likely to get eaten alive. Sure we have some marines and other military guys at my department, and they are quite good at what they do, but they also have very humble and respectful attitudes. This job is a lot more than just driving around in a black and white race car with an ultra cool "non civilian" gun. I was almost hoping this thread was a troll, it might have actually been somewhat entertaining...............

Define "they." I don't know of a single department in the united states that wants to hire a wild card, immature, gung-ho, cowboy.

Oh man. I would love to have you as my trainee.....

In your very few posts above, you have demonstrated that you are exactly who I do NOT wearing my departments uniform or representing me and my agency to the public.

This career is a learning career. You aren't even REMOTELY near begin a career in Law Enforcement and you make it clear you've already got it figured out.

I hope your background investigator reads this because last thing we (LE) need is another liability in a uniform.

Simmer down, be willing to learn, and accept that you have no idea what being a cop actually entails, and you may have a chance yet.

                          Cheers!
Urban legends are a poor basis for making public policy.

I like how you slid the fact you are/were in the Marines into the thread...as if we're supposed to take you seriously. You're acting like you didn't surpass the rank of shady Lance Corporal. As for modified firearms, my stock glock slings rounds just as fast and accurately as your super modified salient/agency arms/whatever the F tacticool gun that Instagram/Chris Costa wants you to use. And you're right; a stock weapon can only take you so far. It's a freakin measly handgun...it's meant to get you to your rifle or shotgun. Modified guns are cool for personal use, not duty. Take what they issue you and train with it religiously.

I wonder if on radio or flashlight forums, candidates ask whether they can modify those things?

Unless you're trolling, no way LAPD will hire a liability such you. I'm not sure of CHP though. Furthermore LAPD will not allow officers to modify duty gun without prior approval.
