Street price on the surge is around $990, but I hear what your saying. I wanted a one and done rifle can that'll last through my grandchildrens life. If light weight is your goal, the surge isn't for you I'm afraid.

No such thing in the silencer world. Technology is still improving. Case in point - the new SIG military cans. Obviously they are built to handle a lot of full-auto fire, but they are also designed to be ungassy. They're 3d printed so they have very complex baffling. Their civilian line is also 3d printed and I wish someone would do some reviews/testing on them already.

My last 2 paper form 4s were approved after close to a year on both. They were basically month apart from ‘check cashed’ and both were approved by the same person on the same day. I had heard about batch approvals where people are getting 2+ silencers approved at the same time even though they were submitted months apart. I think the ATF is trying to get through all the legacy paper submissions so that they can focus on efile submissions.

Anyways, I had a chance to shoot my YHM R9 and Dead Air Mask and they are good to go. I’m already planning out my next purchase for another dedicated PCC can and am thinking about the GSL Phoenix, Wolfman or the Resilient RS9. Which ever one I pick will be my first venture into the form 4 efile.

Sure, just one can covers all your needs. Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, when I said I just need a .45 pistol can for all pistols and .300 Blackout, and a .223 can. Famous last words...

WOW, I haven't seen a C-More sight in 20+ years...maybe I don't get out enough. What is that at the bottom of the mag well? Some extra flaring?

Magwell extension. I have four C-More optics on various competition guns. The interchangeable dot module is a great feature. 2-16 MOA. The plastic models do need to be re-zeroed occasionally.

6.7 Pistol Caliber Carbine Open to carbines shooting pistol caliber cartridges (9mm/.38 special/.40 S&W/10 MM/.357 Sig/.45 ACP). For competitions only in countries where common military calibers are prohibited, .380 ACP is allowed.

There are two equipment divisions:

6.7.1 Pistol Caliber Carbine Open: This is the Pistol Caliber Carbine race division. All legal Pistol Caliber Carbines, to include short-barreled rifles, are allowed. Optics and Compensators are specifically allowed, suppressors are not allowed.

6.7.2 Pistol Caliber Carbine Iron Sights: Any iron-sighted rifle without optic sights. Fiber-optic inserts are specifically allowed.

Its odd that they disallow suppressors...although I suppose the weight would limit muzzle rise and be an advantage. Do they do the same oddball ready where the 'buttstock' touches the hip (some of these gun game rules really crack me up) Don't get me wrong...I like gun games too, but I swear that sometimes the rules are as bizarre as progressive gun laws.

The issue with suppressors is that they typically don't activate the shot timer for an accurate score. My local club used to allow them for their steel challenge "style" matches and it was very problematic.

For USPSA, sometimes the ready position for PCC is buttstock on hip, sometimes low ready pointed to a painted mark down range or muzzle touching a mark on a barricade. It all depends how the stage was set up.

For true Steel Challenge matches, always on the standard low ready aim point, 2' high and 10 feet in front of the shooter.
