The Marines got pissed when the Navy originally came up with the NWU II & III plan. I can understand them wanting a very specific image, even though Big Navy pays their bills. Naval personnel attached to the Army wear the ACU. My sister's boyfriend, an ST2, just got back from IA in Bagram. With the exception of his crow and service tape, everything he wore was Army. I have less of a problem with the NWU than with this:



No one I know in the Navy has anything positive to say about it.

The green AOR1 looks like they bought our old, faded surplus Marpat. Its a BRIGHT green on person, really stands out. Their desert is good kit though.

We seem to mimic the marines because we can be attached to the MEF.

We started calling it the "Guacamole" pattern! The mandarin collar is nice when wearing a MTV though. Now if we could only get some frog blouses too.

No better or worse than the navy blue coveralls we have been wearing since the 90s, with the exception of a blue t-shirt instead of the white one.
