Having someone look up your corn-hole, grab your junk and stare AT your junk while you pee IS stressful.

I can only remember getting my "corn-hole" looked at and waddling like a duck. Seriously, after your first term in the military, you won't even remember MEPS.

when i went we got there at 5:30 and left at around noon. It depends on what you are doing that day. Just for the physical

            Check in
            quick brief on Meps rules/Staff
            liason office for name tags
            quick brief on Meps procedures
            BP/breathalyzer
            Wait
            wait some more
            talk to physician
then you end up in a room with a few areas .... Urinalysis , Blood , hearing , vision , and another doctor consult.
Then you guys all go into a room , get down to your skippies and demonstrate movements from leg kicks on one leg to duck walks
Then you make two lines one for Ears/Mouth the other for the Cup check and Backdoor inspection... my advice is dont think about it and dont make eye contact.

After that you are pretty much done unless you are fingerprinting and swearing in ... then add another couple of hours. Dont be afraid to talk to the other people with you , it kind helps ease your mind about whats happening.

Hope that helps , i just did meps a few weeks ago

It's boring and will be your first taste of how inefficiently the military runs itself.

Everything about it sucks, but you won't be the only one. I talked to people that sat next to me whenever I was waiting for something so time flew for me. It's not like you'll be short on things to talk about.

This sums up the experience quite well.

Wear comfortable clothes, bring a book, and be prepared to do the underwear olympics. Its boring as hell and yeah, uncomfortable when some dude is starin' at your cornhole. I was at mine from 4AM til about 1PM (MEPS in Mountain View last Sept) and I went through pretty quickly. (They kept asking for officer recruits to go first and there wasn't but two of us amongst a plethora of enlisted recruits). Most of all, don't be a dick to any of the staff or they'll make your life hell. Be prepared for some hilarity too. I watched two cheerleader types complaining about an HN1 taking blood samples and how "she treated us like just a piece of flesh and was so impersonal". I asked them what branch they were going into and they both smiled and said, "We're going into the Marine Corps". I just sat back, laughed and said have fun at boot camp.

Try to be in first line for everything without angering anyone. The faster you get those medical exams done, the faster your recruiter will take you back home.

Just don't fall asleep, its funny to hear the MEPS staff get all loud and obnoxious. I was laughing throughout boot camp, 5 years in the Corps, almost 9 years after my enlistment I am still laughing at ****. That doesn't mean I don't have any bearing, just that I have a sense of humor. Before the cornhole check makes you uncomfortable, think of ways to make the Physician feel uncomfortable.
