He certainly can. It is not a lot different from ordering that all suppliers to the government have to pay a certain wage.

Such a move would certainly distract from his disastrous foreign policy.

There's procedure when buying anything for the military. Items that are established by military trials have to meet specifications, thus the word mil-spec. Firearms such as M4s can be procured from several vendors like Colt, FN, Armalite, etc... Bidding will commence who can provide the product within specifications. Unless the military is doing a special purchase and only one vendor can provide that item. There are several ways politicians can sway a purchase towards a certain contractor, but that's done with the right connections and corrupted officials. If the POTUS directs purchasing of resources due to political or business ethics then our system will crumble.

I think as the 2A is concerned you are beginning to see more and more pro-2A democrats (Louisiana for example) as well as anti-2A Republicans (Carson, Christie, others). The lines around the 2A are getting blurred.

I think the 2016 cycle will be telltale on many things, but not the 2A. Because pro-2A votes don't seemingly turn out any more than a typical vote, I think it is difficult the assess the impact of the 2A on the upcoming election. I think there are other issues (social, economic etc) that are what the election will hinge on.

Food producers = legal immigrant farm workers? OR Food producers = farms receiving unmitigated farm subsidies from the government teat? Either way I'm not seeing exactly how the food producers (Monsanto for example) are worth more than some dude spray painting. But if you mean upstanding citizens, regardless of what zip code they happen to live in, then I agree, those people are worth more

As for Carson and Christie, their change of tune lately is pure hogwash. We all know it. Christie signed in to law several anti-2A laws (10 laws in one go at some point in his "career") including laws the NRA is 100% opposed to. We all know Carson also believes cities need different gun laws than rural places because some people are more deserving of protection. I am not even quite sure how a black man in this country can justify that belief. This is NOT to say vote for Hillary, this is to say, don't vote for the Anti-2A movement prevalent in the Republican party, we have options (finally!).

We have seen continued low voter turn out across the 2A stalwarts even when guns are the issue. 2A people just don't vote enough. We have gay marriage because gay people vote, en mas. 2A people are just not on the same participation level yet unfortunately.

Whoa, whoa, I'm a libertarian and I consider leftists/progressives to be a far greater threat to liberties than conservatives.

If you go to reason.com (a leading libertarian news magazine), you will see that in general, most libertarians are far more concerned with the left restricting rights than the right. It even generated a discussion in the comments section where some libertarians were accusing others of being closet conservatives because they seemed to oppose liberals so much.

The left has gotten VERY fascist as of late--you can see this in turmoil on college campuses where Social Justice Warrior (currently #BlackLivesMatter) mobs use intimidation and physical force to shut down free speech. They are not a far leap from beating their opponents to death.

That has already been done. Note how many Democrat and Obama campaign donors won green/environmental contracts and ACA/Obamacare contracts.

There is no proof whatsoever that we are starting to see more pro gun democrats, in fact the opposite is true. The lines around the Second Amendment are like a Berlin Wall between the two parties. Votes in every legislature on federal and state levels are virtually guaranteed to be along party lines when it comes to Second Amendment issues. The two party platforms could not express the difference more clearly.

No rhyme or reason to the stats. Louisiana has twice the gun murder rate as California, but also twice the gun ownership rate. Next door Arkansas also has twice the gun ownership rate as California but a slightly lower gun murder rate. And of course Washington DC is in a class by itself with the lowest gun ownership rate and the highest gun murder rate.

Mr. lame duck is waiting out his term. Expect more golf and speeches. He's dying to get out of office and start his own "Obama Global Warming Foundation" modeled after the Clintons. He wants to make millions and live large directing the world's resource allottments.

So far he's rivaling James Bucannon as the all time worst president. If we get a Paris like ISIS domestic attack, he will be assured of the number one spot for history.

Obama was warned by chief of staff about power vacuum in the area once Sadam Hussein was taken out. ISIS was staging attacks from Syria even before US forces left Iraq. And what about the folks that just stayed home because "their perfect candidate" was not on the ballot...it can happen again in 2016..stay home and Hillary moves into the White House with Billy Boy in tow....Stay home and Gavin Newsom get's elected and has more power than he does now on his "climb to Washington". Stay home and Gavin Newsom's referendum on ammo sales and magazines will become law because there was no turn out to defeat it...more of the same only worse? Just stay home and pout about the "perfect candidate" not being on the ballot.
