Anyone register a CZ Scorpion Evo 3 with a faux suppressor that is permanently wielded to make the overall length of the barrel 16 inches?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I registered a scorpion rifle with the faux suppressor and they made me take it off and submit a new pic with tape measure. However, since yours is welded than it’s more similar to my MP5 clone with welded fake suppressor. I marked the barrel as 16” and added a comment specifying the fake suppressor was permanently welded thus making the barrel 16”. Went through without issue.

OK, my understanding is that you can upload images of the 4 views of the weapon, the inference from the language appears to be 4 separate images. You can load an additional image, but only one, so if you need to supply more than one image you need to combine them into that one image. So far a total of 5 images.

Here's what I need to know. the proof of residence for a joint applicant is allowed as a 6th image or does that information need to be combined with the 5th or "extra" image. In other words a total of 5 images or 6?

I would like to know this as well? Is it fine to remain semi auto?

The best way to do it is by putting all the proofs of residency into one image (or multi-page PDF), and then attach that image as the "joint registrant" image. The "optional extra photos" images should be reserved for additional firearm pictures, such as barrel stamp pictures, serial number closeups, pics that detail how a non-typical BB mag release are installed, etc.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

You can't register a single-shot pistol, because it's not semiauto and thus not an AW.

So the question is rather, "SHOULD I register a semiauto pistol built in 2016?" And the answer is... I don't know. The laws regarding pistol builds in 2016 are a fuzzy gray area, nobody seems to really be sure whether or not we could legally convert them to semi-auto. So be aware that registering it might be risky. Honestly if it were me, I wouldn't.

If you had built it back in like 2013 or something, when the laws were different, that would be another story.

Proof of Residence is allowed on another file. Mind you, if your PoR is 5-6 pages long, like our PG&E utility bill was, it is better to scan it in as one .pdf image. Then you can actually have 8-10 pages in the .pdf file, as long as the file does not exceed 10MB in size.

If the DOJ asks for another image, they often allow you to upload it under Hunting License, and, I suppose, Military Orders.

I have read through the whole 53 pages, but couldn't find how to query the status of a submitted application on CFARS.

I have received the emailed Transaction Receipt from DEPT OF JUSTICE/CFARS, and the email states "This order is now complete. Transaction approved!" with the payment details, but when I log into CFARS, there is no pending (or any other) status, just the generic welcome page (for both CFARS Home page and CRIS Home page).

How do I find a list of pending applications (I have just a single application for a single AW)?

Thanks in advance & props to C&G for all the work he has put into the guide and this thread.

so pissed. Tried logging in, and it says password expired following forgot password instructions. When I get the email the link looks dead. When I click the link it says token expired. WTH. I can't even log on.

After logging in, Click on the CFARS link at the top left, for AW registration. Then on the right, there's a transaction history link. That link won't be there unless you first open the CFARS link at the top left.

But the page is useless. It perpetually says "in progress" regardless of the actual status. People who got their approval letters in the mail 6 months ago have said their status still says "in progress".

                        Thanks for the reply.

One item you might want to include in your guide is a warning for MacOS users to not use Safari when checking the status of their submission.

After your reply, I could not find the link you mentioned. So, I tried Firefox, and low and behold, I was able to find the page with the status of In Progress you mentioned. Phew. I was starting to wonder what had happened to my application.

One week of In Progress is not objectionable. At least my application is in the system.

                        Thanks again for your reply.

I'm under the assumption that it must be de-registered before you sell it and converted to a featureless if not selling direct to an AW dealer or outside of Cali.

Please correct me if I'm wrong b/c I'm having a hard time understand this portion.

I spent an hour and half this weekend, looking at this whole forum and many many thanks to the OP and all contributors for the information

OK, sorry, but this a question about semiauto shotgun. (Saiga12)
Can I register it this month-(June '18), and then in a few years, sell it to someone out of state? (if it is legal in the buyer's state of course)
I only ask because it can never be deregistered being a semiauto mag fed shotgun.
From my understanding it is not on a Federal list that needs a special transfer and should not be a problem.
Just trying to make things clear for me and trying to sell it now or later when I'm not so rushed.
                          Thanks all in advance.

There is actually no imperative to de-register the weapon as an AW if we decide to sell out of state. It's completely elective. If we sold it out of state then that States rules apply, the other States could care less about CA law. But when we sell, it seems very important that we disclose that it's in the registry, prospective buyers might want to know.

I believe the sale of an AW, out of the State of CA, has to go through a CA FFL that has an AW license even if it's shipping out of state? Now I am trying to find this in the law or regulations, I can't remember.

Part of the process of selling an AW and then shipping it through an FFL that has an AW license might remove us from the registry, I don't think anyone actually knows for sure yet. Hopefully people will chime in as to what the process is like.

So what happens to those that wait till the last minute to register and then get a letter requesting more information and that arrives after 7/1? Can they continue their registration or are they SOL?
