It also has the following markings:
    HK
HK416D. (Which is also the model that I decided to call my lower)
Cal. 5.56 mmx45. (Same caliber engraved as my personal info)

The right side of the magwell:
    Heckler & Koch GmbH
    Made in Germany
    Heckler & Koch
    Defense Inc.
    Sterling VA
You have to submit to their serial process via form 1008 if you made this firearm yourself and want to AW reg it. Why mark it with HK information if it's a home build?? I take it that it wasn't made in Germany and has nothing to do with HK.

Either that or go featureless and volreg it. But even when you volreg it your going to have to input your serial and put that it's self-built.

This is why I tell people: never mark a homebuild with replica information of a company. It confuses everyone. Even if you intended it for personal use and never wanted to sell it and just wanted a replica it's ripe for misinformation and misunderstandings.

I have an 80% AR Pistol build. I built back in 2016 as a single shot, then converted to use 10 rounds. When I register as an AW, do I need to convert back to a single shot prior to registering?

I have a rifle built off a CDDEFENSE lower... It didn't list them as a manufacturer so I put US and a note that it is a CDDEFENSE lower in the comments...do you think that will trip them up?

No, that's the right way to go. They will ask questions if there is an issue. If it's not listed we have to put U S.

          Sure that wasn't C3 Defense?

Yeah, I would tell them about it, might speed things up. They might just give you the canned line they won't discuss something that is 90 days from submission. I think they will contact you otherwise, or maybe it will go through as U S. I would not sweat it, put in the "report an issue".

How does it appear on the lower?

CDDEFENSE is marked on the lower magwell, but Charles Daly is also on it with Harrisburg PA, USA....

Damn it....I knew I should have locked the door to the office when I was submitting these....

It's no big deal, just submit a report an issue and say it was confusing and that it should be changed to Charles Daly. Chances are they will contact you anyway and ask for the correction. Nothing to loose sleep over.

                        Thanks!

Thanks for the great tutorial. I was able to get my rifles registered and help my son get his registered as well.

Things like this is one of the many reasons I love CalGuns.

I have a question, of I purchased my firearm from out of state FFL and shipped it to an FFL dealer here in CA, which FFL dealer do I mark on the form?

The transferring FFL, or the one in CA.

Any issues with submitting photos with an SB15 pistol brace? Or is it better to just leave the pistol brace off and have the buffer tube showing?

Also any issues if the AR pistol was purchased before the end of 2014 and obtained via Single Shot Exemption (SSE v1). Original owner directly purchased from local gun store and DROSed "handgun" under single shot category? With all required compliance such as bullet button.

Thanks. I tried reading / scanning for a few pages, but over 50 pages is hard to through.

Any info on AR pistols and SB15 braces? Thanks
