It would be an email. Budget info seems to suggest they are good to go for months after the deadline, so get it in on time and I don't think there is anything to worry about. Not so sure about rejections, don't know how it will work out.

      Thanks for the reply.

How easy was it to remove the fake suppressor on the Scorpion?
I did more research, it looks like the fake suppressor just covers the 16" barrel. So in case they ask for it to be removed, I would like to know and how to do it?

How did DOJ inform you that they wanted the fake suppressor off? Via email directly, postal letter, or do you have to log in to the system and look for a prompt?

      Thank you!

I think I owe cockedandglocked a drink or something for all his help! Hopefully the final question in my quest for 100% accuracy.

With respect to a Tavor X95 bullpup is it correct to say that the pistol grip is conspicuously beneath the action?

I'm always up for free drinks!

Yep, it's definitely considered a pistol grip.

Interesting, it's gone on mine, too.

They probably decided it wasn't relevant - since they run your name through AFS anyways, they'll pull up whatever AW's you've registered before (if applicable) whether you enter an AWS number or not.

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

I'm going to assume the same. Maybe the AWS Number entry block was just redundant.

Is there a 'standard' email address that DoJ uses to communicate with people who have submitted AW registration applications? If so, I would like to update my spam filter to whitelist the address so nothing gets filtered out.

All my email correspondence and notifications about my RAW applications came from bofcris@doj.ca.gov and subject line "CFARS" so you should probably white list that address and or subject line.

                    QQ

I was reading the first five posts as instructed and got caught up in the first part:

IT IS ILLEGAL to attempt to register the following items:
DO NOT register weapons acquired (picked up from the FFL) after 12/31/2016.
DO NOT register weapons which were (or should have been) registered as AWs under a previous registration period ("named" AWs, detachable-magazine AWs, .50BMG rifles).
DO NOT register machine guns, SBRs, SBSs, rifles under 30" in overall length (with the stock collapsed/folded to its shortest configuration where it can still be fired), or any other weapons that were illegal to possess before 2017.
DO NOT register anything that has a standard magazine release, it MUST have a magazine release that "requires the use of a tool."
You will almost certainly get a visit from DOJ agents if you ignore these warnings!!!

                    I purchased a Sig 516 & 716 from FFL after 12/31/2016 so based on the above I shouldn't register?

It's already registered as a non-aw rifle. You don't have to do anything at all. You can't register it as an AW. Volreg is meaningless because everything sold after 2014 is de facto registered as a non-aw.

Correct. 12/31/2016 was the acquisition deadline for any rifle that you planned to register under the new ban. That is why there was a mad dash for EBRs back then. Anything acquired after that date must be featureless.

Will the DOJ send any email confirmation of the application? If so, how long after submitting and paying for the application will DOJ take to send an email or acknowledgement.

                          Thanks.

Usually within a few days. Times seem to be getting longer as the deadline approaches as they appear to be swamped.

I received my first incomplete notification stating "Thank you for submitting your application. Based on the photos provided, the model of your firearm is M&P 15. Please correct your application to reflect M&P 15 as your model number." I tried listing the lower's model as M&P 15, but I get an invalid model number format error. Any idea what I should do? I tried deleting the space and I get the same message. CFARS is recognizing "&" as an invalid character.

If you submitted and it takes them forever to reply and they deny you should be able to rectify without repercussions because you are trying to obey the law.
