The status on all 4 is "In Progress" and I have not heard anything since the 4/5 "submission confirmation" email.

Anyone else having their application take this long?
Did you receive a confirmation email for each rifle? I'm at about 5 weeks right now and waiting for the letter. The average processing time is about 6 weeks, but varies. DOJ won't mail a letter until all your rifles are approved. The status will remain "in progress" even after you receive your letter.

Yes, I received a confirmation email for all 4. Just getting a little anxious as I had read most are taking 5 - 6 weeks and I'm past that now.

That's the first time I've heard of anyone getting a confirmation email for a rifle and then having it bounce back later, that's weird.

I'm sure you're fine though, doj is swamped right now
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

I also registered a DD M4V5 and had to change it to M4 Carbine. I assume all they care about is that "M4 Carbine" is engraved on the receiver and not that DDM4V5 is on the upper. It is also caliber "multi."

Mine was similar, I waited 2 months I believe. It all depends on who looks at your app and how busy they are, no rhyme or reason to any of this.

That's interesting that you heard nothing from them, then asked them to open it to make a change, then they processed it immediately after you made the change. It appears that when you have them open your app for editing, then resubmit it, it moves your app to the front of the line.

Anyways, don't stress, almost everyone's apps are taking forever right now.
Yeah. I had also submitted an issue the day I originally submitted. I realized the barrel length was wrong (16 changed to 18 inch). The issue link was always very fast.

It is heartening to hear that apps are taking a while now. In the past this thread definitely mentioned not getting the "application accepted" for 1-3 months regularly. I was also surprised they seemed to do extra checking on my second issue request.. but that it sorta stalled there (about a week ago).

But was very curious if anyone knows of a letter arriving without receiving the "application accepted" secondary email. Someone mentioned it recently in this thread but I didn't remember seeing that situation in general. If felt like people generally get the "application accepted" email before getting the letter.

It was an SGL-21. I wouldn't worry about changing unless they ask. And in my couple plus interactions with them... they are actually quite fast through the issue link.. but the queue situation seems to be real... and they have quite a lot to process with different people looking at applications. I think in the end the DOJ will have a database with varying inputs for make and model.. and no one is coming after you later if they send you a letter and the model doesnt match the DROS or the AW REG.

Guess while I am repeat posting... the sequence for me went like this:

                    1) Submitted maybe 4/14 on a weekend. Same night I got the payment confirmation email. Then I submitted an issue to change one of the firearms to be 18 inches on the barrel instead of 16. That Monday morning they had re-opened the application and let me change it. Submitted and no emails.

                    2) 5/29 I submit an issue that I have changed my address. Within a day I had resubmitted an app where I 1) changed the address in CFARS 2) Changed the address in all of my applications 3) Changed the proof of address because I am joint applying with my wife.

                    3) Got an email saying the Make and Model needed to change. Changed them and resubmitted.

                    4) Still only have payment received email, never an application accepted email

Reading the history of this thread... waiting 3 months was not crazy for the application accepted email. I'm just trying to sort out if I am totally waiting for the application accepted email (which as I remember includes the background check which I have passed 10 times in the past years).. or if the letter will just pop into my mail box 10% chance.

Either way... Im not really sweating it.. but like us all.. I somehow am sweating it. Particularly as we are now less than a month from the nebulous deadline (6/30)

Letter will always come in mail, never email.

All we can do is get the application in by the deadline. Everything else is speculation, and we can assume on a basic legal and logical level that if we submit an application by 6/30 we will have an honest chance to get approved or get a chance to correct errors.

Every screw up, miscarriage of the law, or problem where DOJ goes outside of their own regulations hopefully helps us, not them.

Yeah... edited because it was a typo. Was trying to see if the application accepted email was a requirement to get the letter... or if the rumor is true... sometimes the letter just arrives without getting the email.

I reallllllllly want the application accepted email before the deadline... because then you have actually submitted an application and have a record. The payment email alone is kinda legally vague.

Honestly, sounds like a good lawsuit for many people trying to stay compliant with the law if people get their submissions in with CFARS before the deadline, and once 7/1 passes, if the DOJ throws up their hands and says to everyone "sucks for you" for anyone who has a pending application and doesn't have a RAW letter yet, their bureaucratic malfeasance and inability to process applications in a timely manner prevents people from being compliant with the law.

Still, I wouldn't put it past them. That's why I did my first batch of "most urgent" BBAWs back in January and only finally got my RAW letter in late April.

Ok I’ve searched a few times and re-read the main post and don’t see this so I’ll ask.

Initially the main post says to photo your rifle WITHOUT a magazine inserted. I understand this logic and was going to do this. However given the recent situation with the farmer that was arrested and some confusion around the AR pistol he had being opened then closed without a magazine being inserted and the DOJ agent concluding this makes it able to accept a detachable magazine (which many including myself believe to be a misinterpretation) and there for an illegal AW—- is the general consensus that we still take our photos without a magazine installed? Or should we now install a shorty 10 rd for the photos?

Before this law was every passed I was told by a local LEO that so long as it has a BB it doesn’t matter if the mag is inserted or not it can’t accept a detachable mag but just like the DOJ agent this is his interpretation.

Also, anyone successfully registered a FN P90?

                                Feedback??

                                Thank you!
