Has anyone volreg'd a 80% pistol(handgun, not ar pistol) like polymer 80 glocks frames? I was wondering about the details of filling out the form. Also, If I don't make the volreg by July 1, but my lower(polymer pistol frame) was milled out and serialized with my own number prior to that date, I have to volreg before Jan 1, 2019? Would I need to apply for a DOJ serial? ThanksLast edited by SneakerJoe210; 06-27-2018, 9:36 AM.Comment

If you volreg prior to July 1, not sure what happens. If you don't, you will absolutely have to engrave DOJ provided serial number on metal plate to embed into poly80 lower.Has anyone volreg'd a 80% pistol(handgun, not ar pistol) like polymer 80 glocks frames? Just finished listening to the live CRPA "Ghost Gun" Webinar. According to the info they have, voluntary registration will only exempt you from having to obtain a DOJ issued SN if your firearms has been accepted & actually entered into the database, not just submitting your application/payment. Since I have not heard of anybody successfully completing this proves anytime in the last few months, it seems as though this would be a waste of time and money.Comment

Yeah webinar said people Volregging are not getting approved so we can probably expect rejections comming back from DOJ in a few days saying. "Sorry, since its after 7/1/18 you will need a DOJ approved serial number."Comment

Yes I listened to it, here are my remaining questions:
1) Wouldn't it be best to just register everything as lower receiver pistols, wait for 30 days before assembling?
2) Is the only difference between before July 1st & after July 1st dealing with polymer lowers without steel plates?
3) Should we cancel our existing CFARS applications or leave them be?Comment

Man that sucks and seems like a money grab by the DOJ. For a person registering multiple firearms, the cost of volregging all of them is still just $19. But if a person wants to register say, 100 firearms, the cost will be $15 x 100 + $20 = $1520. That's a pretty big difference. Even for 10 firearms it's $19 vs $170. Not cool at all.Comment

Personally I would not cancel it. You won't get your money back. Although it sounds like it is useless, you never know. It is possible that they could change their mind decide to accept all apps prior to 7/1 like they are with AW reg.Yes I listened to it, here are my remaining questions:

It looks like we'll all be filling this out and submitting a fingerprint too... This needs to be challenged, it's such an invasion of our 4th & 5th Amendment rights...

Yeah, I went and checked on the status and it just shows IN PROGRESS, but won't let me edit or cancel. I expect they'll be denied next week, but you never know Trump won so miracles can happen!Comment

Yeah, how frustrating. They really make it hard to avoid being a criminal. My volreg is still "IN PROGRESS" too.Comment
